What about Pop music? Who are your favorites?

I really want to be critical and say bad things about Pop music. But the reality is there are some excellent Pop musicians and bands. So... Who are they?

I'll post mine later.

Early Beatles and the Monkees. Can't really think of much else.

AC/DC,Iron Maiden and some Slayer!

I know my username is a Judas Priest reference, but I think Taylor Swift and Riana are pretty good.

I'm not a pop fan but... these stick in my mind.

The summer of 1999 song I hated this song when it came out but now funny enough I'm nostalgic for it.

California by Wave is another good pop song from that time.

I personally love pop. Anything from the 80's to the early/late 90's is most notable for me personally. I love George Michael, Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston...the list goes on. The music itself just seemed to be more sophisticated from a production standpoint even for pop back then. Even lyrically, the songs had more soul than what we're fed now.

As for current artists that I like though, Charlie Puth, Harry Styles and Sam Smith come to mind. I don't listen to much modern music as it is. A bit of an old soul I guess you could say.

I believe this was on the BioShock soundtrack.

Do you mean pop as in mainstream? If so, none.

Avril Lavigne. She has a few good songs, in my view. It's not my favourite genre, though.
