It seems each year goes by faster than the previous. I know there's that explanation out there that says time flies by faster as you get older since a year becomes less of a percentage of your life as you get older, but damn, we're halfway through 2016. I can't believe I'll be graduating college eleven months from now.

Anyone else feel the same?

yea, ever since high school the years have been flying by. Just wait until you finish college and start working full time, then time really starts to slip away

Yeah, it's a little disconcerting how fast time flies, but I wish this summer was over. I'm anxious to start the MFA program I got into.

You need to go out and experience more to make the days feel longer. The world is so new when you're young and those days feel long. I think the internet sort of spoils that feeling of discovering new things on your own.

@gamerguru100:

It will continue to feel that way the rest of your life, live well and make constructive goals for each day, listen to Pink Floyds lyrics on the song "Time",from "The Dark Side of the Moon" album/cd, it says it all.

as you age, each year represents a smaller % of your lifetime. so naturally they feel faster. when you're 10 years old, a year is 10% of your entire life. when you're 30, it's down to 3.33%

Live today like your last...because it might be. Don't worry about how fast the time flies because that cannot be controlled.

well, it can be to an extent. What really makes time fly is getting into a routine and doing the same thing week after week.

if you shake things up, ie. move to a new city and start a new job, time will seem like its slowing down as you have all these new experiences.

This is a good video on the topic:

Yes, this is a well known psychological phenomenon. Even though I am in my 20s, half my "percieved" life is already up.

I've noticed that when I go out to the desert or camping time goes by so slow. And I enjoy hiking or just reading and relaxing from the hectic city life.

@LexLas: Sorry for the late reply. I was without Internet for a while. I wouldn't call it my dream job but it'll be a good profession. I started my program in September 2015 but I've been at the school since February 2014.

My life has gotten slower recently, ever since my wife gave birth to our new baby daughter. The last 2 months since my daughter was born went slower than normal :P
