I don't usually do this, but this trailer is something. They are going with that realistic feel and fan service. And is that Tom Cruise flying the actual, nah, right? What you do think?

No, though Cruise is a certified pilot he isn’t flying a Hornet. Civilians aren’t allowed to pilot military aircraft. No doubt he’s had flights IN one, but he’s not in the hot seat no matter how convincing the movie makes it look.

Not the worst thing I've seen today (the Cats and Jay & Silent Bob Reboot trailers take the crown for that), but was anyone really asking for a sequel 34 years after the original?

I don't understand why people like Tom Cruise. And I wonder how many of those people could honestly say he's one of their favorite actors. I quite liked Rain Man, but he wasn't the main character in that, thankfully. Edge of Tomorrow was nice, but I would have liked it more with someone else.

People are saying the Cats trailer looks god awful and I am not surprised all things considered.

Top Gun 2? This reminds me of how Indy could have been so much better if it wasn't almost 20 years after the last film unlike this one where it is what, 33 or 34 since the original Top Gun. Cruise looks as if he aged poorly and hopefully that is just effects but I think not. What about Viper? He must be in his mid 80's by now so where does that leave him in the film? Stinger? He must be close to being dead. Perhaps if this was done in the late 80's or early 90's but now? It's too late.

With technology today it might be cool to see some really well done dog-fights, can't really think of any decent modern plane movies.

Probably stupid as hell, but eh, as long as it's entertaining.

For being a 50 yr old Tom Cruise, no. Maverick? Yes.

It's bugging me that his character is still a captain after all these years, but he's STILL in active duty? Realistically, he should have been forcibly retired once he hit his 30 year mark. This ruins the whole premise of the movie for me.

I guess the movie wouldn't be any good with an admiral acting as a fly boy but yes, thirty years and still a captain.
