Listening to music that has swearing, blasphemy and/or sexuality. I have a whole bunch of albums that are just collecting dust.

  • Chasing girls in high school. If I did that now I'd be in big trouble.
  • Never having to pay a bill, worry about paying off a credit card, etc.
  • Being naive instead of ignorant. I miss the days of "Hey, so this is how this works" instead of "You don't know how this works? Idiot!"
  • A lot of games that used Gamespy for multiplayer.

Hahaha this, probably above all else.

And of course the problem is we are so far gone we can't go back, so that makes it all the more terrible.

I was contemplating going back to a "dumb" phone (or whatever we want to call them) and had to think about it. Would I really miss a smart phone? Would I need a smart phone? Yes, unfortunately. Smart phones have maps, I can look things up with ease, and so on.

Social media can go to hell, though. Facebook was good for a year or two when it was just for college students and actual socializing, but then it went public or whatever and that's sort of when shit went downhill.

the feeling of wonder at the newness of things. like the excitement of driving on your own for the first time or getting your own place and being independent for the first time.

older you get just seems like there's less and less experiences like that.

adulting sucks that way

yeah, nothing seems new any more. There's no whimsy or wonder in the adult world, I have to go find it in other things.

God forbid my young-at-heart nature is mistaken for immaturity :(

I miss flip phones IMO they look much cooler then the modern boring ones we have now and hanging up always made you feel like the shit was going down lol.

Being young and going to Buffalo Bill's Brewpub at 10:30am every Saturday with my buddy Mason and starting our weekend with pizza and beer while watching X-Men and Tick cartoons on the big screen. If I did that now I'd just end up crashing out in a few hours and have heartburn all day.

So much this. The only reason I got a smartphone was because I needed it for work. I rocked my Samsung Messenger feature phone until it got too inconvenient with my employer and recruiters expecting me to have access to email at all times. As much as I'd like to say screw it and ditch my iPhone for something simpler, it's not practical anymore.

And boy, oh boy, social media....
