Nooblet why did you delete your post?

Mithrandir50
Because I hadn't read the whole post and thought it was for book suggestions. Didn't know it was for everyone to read. My new pick is American Gods as I have never read it and looks like a classic.

I have decided to support Of Mice and Men. I urge all supporters of A Brave New World and Siddartha to support Of Mice and Men, as it is the only one of those three that can beat American Gods and A Moment in the Sun.

It looks like your support has worked, Lai. Must say that I am shocked. I will cut the vote if it seems like it's slowing down... perhaps Sunday morning will be the cutoff.

I wasn't. I just had to comment on the laughable suggestion that a Dan Brown book is worthwhile in any way. I voted for American Gods in both polls (though I haven't read it).

I'm already reading a book that I highly recommend, it's called Let The Right One In, it's a Swedish book -which has been translated to English - by John Ajvide Lindqvist. I've almost finished it, just another hour or so left, I'll resume in an hour or so. It's disturbing yet fascinating.

It depends on the store. Some stores allow a book to be listed as free, while others have a minimum price (for example, Amazon's kindle store has a minimum price of $0.99). On each store that the book is available on, it will either be free or listed at the lowest price allowed. Also, I nominate my book for future Book Club readings. I think it would be a good experience to read a book by someone within the organization because you would benefit from being able to have a Q&A session with the author.

This probably would have worked better during the summer since the semester seems to winding down and people may be busy with various projects, papers, tests and stuff.

I have only expressed here a small portion of the ideas to be presented in my book, so you are just being ignorant.
[QUOTE="Laihendi"][QUOTE="dave123321"]Tc want you guys to know that he is attending a chess tournament today and tomorrow. During his absence, I am in charge of the club. As of this time Of Mice and Men is leading with 16 out of 40 votes.DroidPhysX
I recommend a run-off between the 2 books with the most votes if Of Mice and Men does not exceed 50% of the vote.

This isn't a French presidential election.

If all of the club is going to read the same book then it is a good idea to have a book that the majority of the club agrees on.

Some discussion questions prior to getting started on the book. These are geared to of mice and men. How do you define the American dream? How does society treat and deal with the mentally handicap? Do you find the idea of being your own boss the ultimate realization of the American dream? Explore the idea of loneliness and how it can develop in relationships between people. These are to be considered jumping off points for discussion prior to reading. So the discussion of these questions will start now.
