Has anyone seen The Island? I've heard some people just don't seem to like Michael Bay. Why, though? When I saw The Island for the first time today, I was very surprised that I enjoyed it. I found it great (although not excellent) with the way science was explained, the various action scenes and the acting of the two main characters. What are everyone's thoughts about Michael Bay and this film?

Read Brave New World if you thought that movie was interesting.

I like his movies.
I don't watch them for an in-depth experience, I watch them for enjoyment, which is what movies should be about.
He's an expert at popcorn flicks.

The Island is a complete rip off of some other movie. I've heard people talk about it a lot but I can't remember the name of the movie he riped off. He actually had to go to court over the whole thing.

I've never seen the movie myself but I really don't like anything Micheal Bay has done.

I don't like Michael Bay for one reason. He is all special effects and no real plot or character development. I can see how his films can appeal to an audience, but alas, I am not in that audience.

I thought it was garbage. But Scarlett Johansson wearing a body suit is never a bad thing.

I disagree... but as with my thoughts on Transformers, I know many people will disagree. It is my opinion is all, and I stick by it.

The Island is an alright movie. I think its one of those films that is worth watching at least once, but doesnt have enough qualities for multiple viewings.

I accept that, although i will say that special affects play a large role in his movies but thats not all there is to them.

I really didn't like it. It's definitely not the worst film I've ever seen, but I would not choose to watch it again.

They're robots that can transform and they are trying to gain control over the allspark. (whatever it's called)

What the hell are you expecting? To get to know Megatron's deepest and darkest secrets?

maybe, but not all movies are made for deep thought and a moral meening to it.Some are made just for entertainment, like Transformers.

Well, I read that Michael Bay uses some idea that was present in another film and then chucks it into his. Maybe he does but I have to give him a thumbs up for The Island. It got a decent score on IMDb anyway.

Stephen Spielberg actually dumped the project on him so he could go do some other movie. He let him direct Transformers as an apoligy for doing that, they are actually pretty close friends.

I would,if you are into the subject matter that the movie portrays.
