isn't it very very stupid that you have to confirm your birthday just to view a web?(for example, Call of Duty, Company of Heroes, or any similar "M" rated game)

i mean there's nothing inapporpiate for the user.....isn't it just stupid?

I think it's legal reasons. Even if people do bypass it, it's their own fault at that point, and the site is no longer responsible.

If each website that had this rule tallied up the birthdates I think for some reason there would be an overwhelming amount of people born on January 1st. :P

Its highly inappropriate! Those "games" contain violence on an unbelievable level! I mean who would want to operate a gun and kill someone? A terrible person thats who, and we need to keep our kids away from such atrocities!

It's so that they(the video owners/website hosts) cannot be held accountable for any mental scaring the kid might receive while watching the video. It's like a "We warned you!" thing. You think they really care?

Not all people who can operate a gun and kill someone are bad people. In fact, many great leaders fought in wars. Actually, George Washington , the first constitutional U.S. president, was a soldier a long time, then a general, before he was president.
