30 Million for the midnight premiere. The second highest premiere ever.

160 million dollar opening weekend.

Bane%20Batman%20Catwoman%20The%20Dark%20

Hello, Batfans. After viewing the fourth incredible trailer for this movie, I figured it was time to create an information thread about The Dark Knight Rises. Let the countdown begin, with one month left. So let's talk about this soon to be epic movie. Are you excited? Feeling kinda meh about this? What do you think about the new characters? How will it compare to the previous movies? Let's remember to include spoilers in the spoiler tags, ANYTHING that may be considered spoilers. I plan to to have polls about the Bat movies, at least once a week, maybe more. This first post should be updated with tons of info about the movie every couple of days, so keep checking in. Let the countdown begin! One month to go!

**Quick reminder on how to use spoiler tags, and yes, you must use them. Type it like this: [spoiler*] cool message about The Dark Knight Rises [/spoiler*]. Take away the asteriks and there you go. Don't have the mods knocking on your door.**

Regal Cinemas is doing a Batman marathon in my town (and I'm assuming in most other areas) They're playing Begins @ 6:30, TDK @ 9 then TDKR at midnight on the 19th. I figured I'll just watch the blu rays the week before.

Huge Batman fan but I'm not too fond of Nolan's adaptations or his films in general...but I'm still hyped for this.

Hopefully it's the best one.

I like my superheo movies to be more grounded in reality for some reason, that's why I'm a huge fan of Nolan's movies.

If I was going to get my arse handed to me by a big guy on some kind of special drug which gave him unlimited strength and endurance I'd realistically just buy a gun and shoot him. It'd fall down like Indiana Jones where the crowd parts and this big guy with a sword starts doing his thing and Indiana Jones blows him away.

The Dark Knight Rises ends.

I voted for Christian Bale because he's the best choice out of the ones listed. However, I think that Christian Bale makes a good Batman, but not the best Bruce Wayne because I always picture Bruce Wayne as a man with more of a Nordic appearance (albeit with dark colored hair); Bale, nor any of the other actors have the look.

I'm TOO excited for this movie. I downloaded the third and fourth trailers onto my Zune and I keep watching them over and over. Every time I do, I get more and more pumped for it. It seems that it will be more epic in regard to scope and more emotional than the last two. Also, Tom Hardy's portrayal as Bane seems that it will be - at the very least - equal to Ledger's performance as the Joker.
In the fourth trailer, Bane is shown walking while holding a portion of Batman's broken mask. How do you think he broke Batman's mask like that? Seems like he must have seriously hurt Batman.

• According to the Wikipedia article for TDKR, Batman/ Bruce Wayne left Gotham for some time. Perhaps the man with him in this photo is some fellow-occuppier of the place he retreated to during that time.
 • I strongly believe that Bane will keep Batman/ Bruce Wayne imprisoned after seriously injuring him (recall the scene in the trailers in which Bruce is lying down and asks Bane "Why didn't you just kill me?")Perhaps this man is a fellow prisoner.

Voted Christian Bale, IMO he makes a better Bruce, even more so than he does Batman. Love his B-man, but I sometimes still find myself unable to get pass his voice.

That's what I was thinking as well.
Bane "breaks" him, transports him to his prison along with Gotham's elite. Then he has free reign of the city.
That's just my guess. I try not to think too much about the plot till I see it, but I can't help it.

Kevin Conroy is the true Batman. Christian Bale sounds like Cookie Monster and TDK is pretentious and self-congratulatory. Still better than most comic book movies but perhaps the most vastly overrated film ever made.

THK is awesome and not overrated one bit. I do love Kevin Conroy's Batman voice, but he could never play the Bat in live action.

The only line I never understood until I watched TDK with subtitles was: "You'll be in a padded cell forever!" To me, it sounded like he said: "You'll pay the price and chill forever!" Hopefully they found the middle ground in this movie.

Alledgedly, he had a rep for being difficult to work with on the set. The studio let him go, and signed Clooney to take over. Here's an article that goes into some deatail.

Yea, the neck on the first suit makes him look more brutish and intimidating. Also, the first suit is more in-line with the traditional batsuit because it has a cowl.

Possible spoiler
. I'm beginning to think we have seen the final shot of the movie, just like TDK showed the final shot of Batman riding away in most previews. The shot of Batman on top of the bridge seems like a perfect way to end the series, a scene of optimism, with Gotham's protector watching over the city.
It was hard for me to choose between Michael Keaton and Christian Bale. I went with Bale though, his Batman is more realistic and grittier than Keaton's IMO.
BluRayHiDef
What shot?
Check trailer 3 and 4 again. You should see it.
