The 2006 OT Awards: Set-Up
________________________________________
I'm planning on hosting the 2006 OT Awards, where users from all around Gamespot can gather around and vote their acquaintances for these honorable awards. If you have images I can use as awards (for sigs), please PM them to me or post them in this thread. Remember to follow the Terms of Service when doing so.
This thread is only for suggestions and ideas, not nominations. Got it? No voting yet. I'll give you my incomplete list of nomination categories, and hopefully you can suggest some more. Or, if you think the idea won't work at all - by all means, let me know. I'm still deciding as to whether I'll follow through with this, so if you truly think it shouldn't be done, it will indeed sway my decision.
In addition, I've decided to open up voting to all of Gamespot, meaning that everyone can vote, and they can vote for anyone. The fact that it's the "OT Awards" is just that it's hosted in OT. I've decided this because it would be hard for nominations to be limited to OT, considering that it'd be hard to differentiate between a regular OT poster and someone who periodically pops in.
So here's my list-in-progress:
Personality

Funniest User
Most Intelligentest User
Horniest User
Most Outgoing/Crazy User

And if you have any images that I can use for an "I winned a 2006Â OT Award" pic (perhaps in the form of a tag), please PM them to me or post them in this thread.

The nomination round will last for five days, starting around 12 noon EST this Saturday, January 21st. So I'd have to be awake at around 2 AM to get this going at noon.
Nevertheless, with my problems aside, I've at least constructed a list of rules and guidelines:
1.You may only nominate someone if you are above level 6, but anyone at any level is eligible for nomination. If a level 5 or under user posts their nominations, I will not count them at all. This is to reduce the chance of someone nominating themselves through alternate accounts, as well as to reduce spam by a bit. However, if you meet those guidelines, there is no reason that I would not include your vote – even if you don’t hail from OT.
2. Please do not make much off-topic discussion, as tempting as it may be to rub shoulders (rawr) with the large audience we have. The more you digress, the harder it is for me and others to count valid votes, so please reduce the joking around to a bare minimum.
3. You may obviously only submit your nominations once. You may send them to me by PM or in this thread, but please do not do both. I won’t accidentally miss your votes, so don’t worry.
4.You may not nominate yourself at all. Under any circumstances. Even if you think you’re the best candidate for the category, instead try choosing the second-best or just skip the category altogether.
5.You do not have to vote for every category. Obviously, not everyone is going to be able to think of someone for every single nomination.
6.You may not vote more than one person for one category. Just decide.
7.Nominated users will only be eligible for actual voting once they receive a minimum of three votes. So, if only two people nominate you for a certain category, I’m sorry, but you won’t be able to participate unless there’s a shortage of nominations in that category.
8. If for any reason there aren’t enough votes for more than two nominated users in a category, I will either take those who were nominated once or twice, or in extreme cases, I might make my own candidates based on my own judgment of who’s eligible.
The End.
In case you aren't sure how this is going to work, there will first be a nomination thread in which you nominate users for each category. Then, I will choose the users who were nominated the most in each category, at which point they will become nominees. Then, after that's done, step two is to vote on them. One for each category. A fight to the death. The winner will be the one with the most votes, and will recieve pride, honor, a humble little tag, and maybe even a kiss from your baby Patchi.
