It use to start on memorial weekend and last until Labor Day. This year it started in April and ends this weekend with that Tom Cruise Groundhog Day ripoff, with Scientology undertones. Look ahead, there isn't a single must see movie for the rest of the summer.

There hasn't been a "must see" summer movie for years IMO.

umm, Transformers, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, How to Train your Dragon 2, Guardians of the Galaxy are all still set to be released this summer. Mix that with Cap 2, Spiderman, X-Men, Maleficent, Godzilla, and it's been a phenomenally good summer movie season compared to most years. And as for this..

You do realize, Edge of Tomorrow, is based off a book, and a good one at that.

The only summer movie I've enjoyed so far is Captain America 2. Although I am really looking forward to 22 Jump St. The original was the only movie that actually made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe in the theater. Apart from that Edge of Tomorrow looks all right and I'll inevitably end up seeing Transformers 4, but nothing really stands out.

Shhh, your logic has no place here! But yeah, the film has absolutely no religious undertones.

This and the book is by a Japanese author.

The stupidity is strong with this one. Any movie with a time loop plot element will be disregarded by you as a "Groundhog Day" ripoff.
Now seriously, do you really think the movies are gonna be that much alike? And just because it has aliens and Tom Cruise you think its some kind of scientology propaganda?

Idiots like you are the reasons good sci-fi movies often fail, you're way too eager to write them off for absurd reasons.
I've seen "Edge of Tomorrow" and it's pretty darned excellent (as the rotten tomatoes rating is showing).

Guardians of the galaxy is the only movie mentioned that I have any interest in seeing, the rest are sequels to movies that I thought were average, 22 jump street, or awful, transformers. So June has no releases, July has no releases, and august has one. I still stand by the argument this will go down as one of the weakest summers yet.
