As I understand this thread, a Sudanese woman who is a parent defeated the legal system of Sudan and in response users in this thread are arguing about whether Islam or Christianity is worse.

Stay classy, OT.

Religious bickering is self-defeating and is kind of laughable. If religious people of different faiths engage in the act of disparaging and discrediting different faiths, they practically shoot themselves in the foot because the three Abrahamic religions are generally speaking perceived as outlandish and alien to modern history and current human civilization. They open the door wide open to those who wouldn't want anything more than to see organized religion abolished altogether, thus effectively undermining their own faith. I'm not sure if I'm succeeding in conveying my idea here, but if a Christian man makes the claim that Christianity is more tolerant and peaceful than, say, Islam because of the Islamic view on homosexuality for example, then he would be contradicting his own creed that decrees homosexuality as a sin. Furthermore, he would also undermine his contended immutability and perpetuity/eternality of his own creed because if he's allowed to decree a religion that has a lot in common with his own faith as violent and pathological to humanity, then what's stopping someone else from regarding Christianity among the same lines?

Thoroughly agreed.

I also agree, shame to many people just want to smash others simply because its easier to lump them all into one category as "inferior".

" Communism is not love. Communism is a hammer which we use to crush the enemy." - Mao Zedong

The proletarians, driven to despair, will seize the torch which Stephens has preached to them; the vengeance of the people will come down with a wrath of which the rage of 1795 gives no true idea. The war of the poor against the rich will be the bloodiest ever waged."

- Friedrich Engels, "Condition of the Working Class in England", 1845

"...the very cannibalism of the counterrevolution will convince the nations that there is only one way in which the murderous death agonies of the old society and the bloody birth throes of the new society can be shortened, simplified and concentrated, and that way is revolutionary terrorism."

- Karl Marx, "The Victory of the Counter-Revolution in Vienna," Neue Rheinische Zeitung, 7 November 1848.

So here it is. It is not Islam or Christianity that is the violent creed, it is Marxism/Communism that is inherently violent. Islam forbids murder as doe Christianity. Islam put an end to the pre-Islamic Arabian practice of burying unwanted infants alive, just as Christianity forbid the practice of "exposure" - leaving unwanted babies (usually girl ones) outside to die -. I would argue that many of the advancements Western society has made in regards to nonviolence and being more humane have been made because of Christ's teachings and people trying to more faithfully follow them.
