BRHD attitude? hell, when i have kids i hope they wanna live at home forever. Ill work hard so they dont have to. Ideally i think thats the best attitude, pave the way so the younger generation doesnt have to work as hard. Im not of the misery loves company mindset, where i think everyone should have to work as hard as me to achieve what I have. If people younger than you have to work harder for less, you failed in life, imo. The goal should be making it easier.
BRHD = BlueRayHiDef.
And who said work harder for less? I'd want my kids to understand the value of hard work. That doesn't mean I want them digging ditches for a living, but I would want them understand that you get out what you put in. If they just want to lazy around the house all day that shit ain't gonna fly. There are chores to be done before you get to sit about with free time, and I don't mean just 'clean your room'.
Hell the whole time I was growing up I had shit I had to get taken care of, from working on the yard, helping with the horses (had to get up before school to feed them), help with my younger siblings, help my mom with the babies she kept when I got home from school (changing diapers, even), working in the garden (my hands are still numb from that damn rotary tiller)...
Hell even now that I have my own house there's a never-ending list of things to do. Clean the bathroom, stain the deck for the year, sweep and vacuum, clean the stove, clean the fridge, mow the yard, trim the trees and bushes, put sealant on the outside window trim, clean the chimney and flue before and after winter, dusting, cleaning windows inside and out, doing whatever maintenance needs done before it becomes a repair job, etc.
That's not even mentioning keeping the vehicles up, shopping for groceries (hate it hate it hate it but I gotta eat) cooking (I actually enjoy cooking), doing and folding laundry and all that stuff that has to be done.
And then I get to drive to my parents house and work there, since they're getting on in age, my brother (who is 37 and still lives with my folks) is a drunk and my sister has four kids.
Being a responsible adult is a hell of a lot of work, and a bunch of little things add up to a busy schedule.
Maybe you're one of those who don't mind the floor of your tub turning black with mildew on the shower walls, or mold in your toilet, or your floors being filthy and your stove covered in food and grease...but some of us are civilized.
