Strange tastes?

What are your likes and preferences that might seem a little... ...odd?

When someone asks me if I like Coke or Pepsi, my answer is "depends." If from a tap at a McDonald's or a KFC, Coke. If out of a bottle at home, Pepsi. No idea why.

Also, I like tortilla chips. That's not strange. What is strange is my favourite flavour: original salted. No other flavourings, no dip, just salt. I'd munch away whole bags and can't get enough of the stuff.

And finally, the Didgeridoo. Most people I know can't stand the sound of it. I find it oddly pleasant and relaxing. Hypnotic, even.

Hmmm not sure, tbh. Maybe my porn preferences? :D But I am not going there...

I like cantaloupe and salt (or when I'm feeling fancy, cantaloupe and prosciutto). It's actually a classic combination, but a lot of people are weirded out when you mix the two together. They're like "Are you...sprinkling salt on your melon?!" And I get twice the flack for the prosciutto

plain salted chips are awesome, too. We don't call that a "flavor" though, we just call those "tortilla chips".

As for your coke/pepsi conundrum, well, that's because of water quality; all Pepsi/Coke products taste the same everywhere because they are made to a specific standard with water that has been filtered, then built back up to a certain mineral content with additions. At restaurants, they rely on their water which might be filtered but it's not quite the same as the plant water at Pepsi or Coke factories, and that can change the flavor quite a bit. I know for a fact one McD's place in my town does not filter their water at all and the coke tastes like straight ass.

Everyone I know loves the didge so I cant relate there.

As for weird tastes I can't really think of any...olives, I guess? I don't think that's weird but ever since I moved to the Netherlands I came to realise almost everyone in the area hates olives. They never sell in the supermarket and even when I go to Subway most people just ask for "all vegetables except olives" while I ask for extra olives, which gets me funny looks. I'm know as "the olive guy" in there :p

So... is that better or worse?

Maybe because Mcdonalds and KFC add water to it? That's probably why the taste isn't as pure compared to a bottle. Plus, they add ice which eliminates the flavour.

I love Pineapples on Pizza. Fight me, it has Vitamin C and Beta Carotene.

Bunless black bean turkey burger topped with avacado-corn salsa combo. Sounds weird to others, but it is delicious and nutrient dense.

I like eating bread with peanuts(not peanut butter)

In fact i like it so much that i could live on just bread, peanuts and cheese.

I don't like alcoholic beverages (except for beer which I can put up with) and most fruit. I also don't really eat tomatoes and cucumbers which are a vital part of my country's traditional salad. However I am fond of ketchup - perhaps too much.

So it is progress? You're like on step 2 or 3 out of 13 to become one with the people there D=

@horgen: we latinos are taking over the northern countries in Europe and America, them northeners need a like dark blood running through their veins. Pedro is our representative in the Netherlands.

If only you handled the lack of sunlight and warm weather... The sun rises after I come to work... And sets before I leave work. At least I get to see the sun unlike my northen brothers :P

Seriously though, the cold is perfectly fine, but the damn wind that seems to blow straight into my face regardless of which direction I'm facing is annoying as all hell. As for lack of sunlight there's lamps that help with that, or, you know, vacations to somewhere warm every now and then. One solution is more expensive than the other, though.

@horgen: lack of sunlight ain’t no problem, there are these special lamps that are as bright as our southern sun; as for the warmth, well, we got your women ya know .....

That wind is merely the cold weather way of saying hello. And those lamps are not a replacement...

Those 2KW lamps will seriously affect your electricity bill... :P
