I am a high-school student and I really need a part-time job. For the past few weeks I've given out resumes and application forms to about 6 stores and restaurants. But no one called me back. I called some of them and they said that, when they need an employee they go and choose from dozens if not hundreds of applications. How can I get a job?!

Be patient. Keep applying yourself, and eventually you'll snag a job.

If you mention on your resume your level and post count on GS, that should give you a boost for getting a job at EB or Gamestop. They also would like to know how long you've been a member of GS and make sure to list references like the Mods here at GS if you have a good e-relationship with them.

You just have to keep looking. If you really are that desperate apply for anything you feel you're qualified for, even if you dont want to do it.

If you lived anywhere in Alberta you'd have no problem. Places are hiring without even giving an interview, you can give your resume, and they'll tell you when your first shift is.

good advice. The squeaky wheel gets greased. If you constantly call and nag them they will see that you really want the job and may prioritize you.

The area I live in blows. There's only so little you can choose from and practically nothing that's within 30-45 minutes driving distance.
