Thinking of probably moving on tbh. Which new and upcoming game sites closer represents EGM or Gamepro or Tips and Tricks from the past?

Used to like Nintendo Power....until they became too "Nintendo-ey" so I'd rather not have a company that's like them, because that's what Gamespot is like.

@brimmul777: indeed same here. EGM ruled!!

To TC: *shrugs*. If Gamespot’s not for you, that’s fine. I guess it’s not for everyone.

@outworld222: It's the fact that they are paid to produce the content by the game companies rather than being independent.

Yeah, it really sucks, but I haven't found a good website that isn't like that. Which is why I'm still here, but ignore every article and review they post.

Well, EGM was a part of Ziff Davis, just like this website once was over 25 years ago.

Yeah, it was 2012 when the review for GTA 5 came out that I noticed this site took a left turn at independent writing.

Are there ANY recommendations for video game journalism that still holds true to being independent and neutral from gaming companies? Used to, gaming companies sent journalist review copies and flew them out for 4+ hour early game play previews under controlled circumstances within gaming headquarters. Now? Only if you say the right words, pay the right palms, go to the right events and promote their products in such a way that the only way you get "real" reviews from these "journalists" is when they're reviewing a regular/sup-par game. then it actually gets the rating it deserves. AAA-AA games have paid for reviews and hell, some bad games get raving reviews for questionable reasons. This is why I've gotta swap my news site to something more tangible.

Also: The editorial opinions on this site have gotten worse over the years

Does anyone remember way back to the Wii days when Nintendo provided a message board(s) and allowed discussions?
