I have an HDTV panasonic and what im trying to do is hook my 5.1 surround sound computer speakers onto the TV. I heard that i need to buy a receiver for this to happen but i don't want to buy one and it ends up not working like how i want it to. My question is can i use an audio amplifier? i currently have something like this

http://www.amazon.com/AudioSource-Amp-100-2-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00026BQJ6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-2609802-0427239?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1182919088&sr=1-1

I don't know if that'll work so i'm just asking and making sure. Thanks in advance for any help or tips/suggestions

I don't know, I have used my computer speakers with my TV but I don't remember how but I'm pretty sure you need a reciever plus if it dosn't work how you want you can just send it back.

Unless the Panasonic has an on-board 5.1 output, you'll need an external receiver. The amp you linked has only two channels and could be used to produce L/R stereo sound, but not 5.1 surround.
