-My little brother's girlfriend's birthday is this sunday and he told me that he's going to sing and play a song for her..right in front of her. Now she doesn't know about this...obviously. It's supposed to be somewhat of a "surprise". Do you think this is a good idea? Lol, I kinda teased and made fun of him for it. He's only 16 and he's trying to do all this extra stuff to "melt her heart", as he likes to call it. It was pretty funny. But anyways, here's the song he's going to be singing for her. It'll be at the bottom. Do you think people at his age can really be "in love"? He's only 16... I think my brother's a bit too young and immature to even understand what that word means. But then again....he's doing all this stuff for her and even singing a song to her on her birthday....or maybe he's just doing it to get in her pants LMAO.

-Anyways, here's the song he'll be singing to her, if you want to check it out.

There are people who are 40 and probably don't know what love feels like even if they are more experienced. So... yeah it is possible, I wouldn't rule it out. People say you have your whole life ahead of you and different people to choose from but who says that you will run into that many or if any other mates? You never know until it happens. As for the song... is he an amazing singer? He shouldn't try to ruin her birthday. :P

Well at least it's his girlfriend already. Let him do it, the song is pretty easy to play and the vocals aren't that bad either.

Although, that's not really a b-day present. Tell gim to also get her some jewelry. Chicks dig shiny stuff.

InEMplease

If his girlfriend would agree with that advice, he needs a better girlfriend. :P

I don't think any of us are qualified to say whether or not it's a good idea. All depends on his ability and his girlfriend's demeanor.

The vocals "Arent that bad" when sung by the original artist. In the hands of an untalented singer...:o

Used to sing to my gf when we were younger. It's too bad I hit puberty late in life and can no longer sing to save my life. Voice cracks like a cheap vase.

i don't really feel like listening to the song, but 16 year olds are into that stuff so it will probably work, assuming your little brother doesn't suck at playing guitar. but playing guitar isn't that hard to do, so it's pretty reasonable that a 16 year old can play that song. as i said before, that's just what 16 year olds do :P

I imagine the girlfriend would find it endearing, the other partygoers might just uncomfortably sip their punch though.

Girls love this song. They used to sing it at my high school. I think he's to young for love yes, but young love is the best love. It's not really about being young, but a lot of fun hormonal emotions and it's just so fun. lol I feel old saying that even though I'm only 19 :P

To be real dude, girls love it when guys do this stuff. It shows that they're not afraid to put themselves out there to show their affection. I sang and played a song for a girl and she literally melted for me. I would suggest this for any guy if he wanted to make a girl feel good. Music goes a long way.

Great song. Make sure to cheer him on. It must be a bit a nerve-racking for him.

Just for kicks and giggles, and the irony of this song..

I'm going to stop myself before I completely tear you a new one for saying he doesn't know what love is. You don't suddenly turn 18, 20, 25 and discover what love is. People need to stop criticizing young people that find somebody to love just because they're jealous they didn't have that from such a young age. If the relationship ends, or it turns out it wasn't forever love, who the hell cares? If somebody gets married at 18 and gets a divorce, you call them stupid. If somebody gets married at 30 and gets a divorce, they're apparently not stupid. They both still ended up divorced, but only the young person is stupid because they didn't wait around for middle age to sneak up on them before getting married. Love is unpredictable, no matter how old you are. Things happen, sometimes stuff doesn't work out. Just because you didn't stay together until the end of time doesn't mean it wasn't real love. I find it funny that the only people who criticize young people who are in love are bitter people who had their 'young love' end badly or people who have never experienced real, pure love for another person.

I'm sure she'll appreciate the gesture, just make sure he's a good singer because if he's not, it might be slightly embarrassing for him :P. Also, I think you can be in love at the age of 16.

Who here would have the guts to do such a thing? Honestly I think the effort makes up for however terrible it might be. Good on your brother and I wish him all the best :)

I think that the thought is what will count to your brother's girlfriend. You probably need to butt out of this one and let him do his thing.

Yup, my girlfriend and I went to a karaoke bar and the subject of what "Our Song" was came up and I stopped her before she could say what she thought it was and signed up to sing the song that I knew she was already thinking of. After sitting back down I didn't tell her what I signed up for, but did actually confirm that it was the right song without saying whether I agreed with her or not. She got all teary eyed when I sang it.

If I were going to sing a song to my girlfriend on her birthday, it would be "Closer" by NIN.

I don't like that song at all. The lyrics are incredibly stupid. But hey, that's just me. :P

One can certainly be in love at 16, and even much younger.

You can't criticize someone for falling in love at a young age, it's beautiful actually, I'm jealous, never had it at 16, still don't.:(

Like most young "romance" it's probably just infatuation. I'm not saying they don't really like each other, but the percentage of 16 year old relationships going the distance is few and far between. I'm not telling him to not do it, but I'd just take her to a movie or something.
