Make sure when you get in there and shake the interviewer's hand, just release your bladder and piss your pants right there. They like that kind of thing.

Hmm. Obviously wear something nice, maybe a collared shirt w/tie. Try and act professional, as it's a pretty important position. Be prepared to answer questions that are about yourself. They'll always ask you something like "What are some issues that you've had with the management of your previous job?", or along those lines. Just stay calm when you go there, make sure you shake their hand, try and act happy! :)

Dress a step above the expected attire for the position. If tellers are expected to wear polo shirts and khaki, wear a dress shirt and slacks. If tellers are expected to wear dress shirts, put on a tie.

Be aggressive and demanding. Let it out that you're aware of where your interviewer lives, that way he might get a little freaked out and be hesistant to say 'no' to you.

Don't stab the interviewer in the neck.

Shower within 48 hours of the interview.

Don't drool during the interview.

Don't eat taffy right before answering a question.

When he asks you something like "What do you think are your flaws?". Answer (EX: for cooking position) Well I'm not good at cooking fish but I'm willing to learn how to.

Three serious suggestions:

  1. Wear a nice suit and a quiet tie.
  2. Don't get upset at any personal questions.
  3. Act like you'd have half a clue what to do if a masked man burst into the room with a shotgun.

clean cut with suit and tie ( black if you have one), maintain eye contact, short to the point answers, be confident, be polite. in short....try to make them feel like they will be missing out if they do not hire you. maybe the 45 minute interview is prolly for a more then one person interview or a slight orientation. good luck

Ask yourself "What can I bring to this job?" and answer it. Because I had a bank teller interview (though my class schedule disqualified me for the position) and that was one of the questions.

Some popular ones that I've heard before:

What are 3 of your strengths?
What are 3 of your weaknesses?
What can you bring to this job?
Why do you want to work here?

1. Lots of high fives. It shows you are a team player.

2. Bring a bottle of booze for the interviewer. This shows you are genuine and sincere.

3. Regardless of the interviewers sex grab their butt. If they are the opposite sex this shows you know how to have fun. If they are the same sex it shows you don't judge.

4. Smack gum loudly. This shows how much you value good dental hygeine, a trait all employers look for.

5. Repeat all questions back to the interviewer in an accusatory tone. This shows that you have good listening skills.

6. Take cell phone calls during your interview. This shows you can multiask.

7. Cut the interviewer off repeatedly. This shows that you are aggresive.

8. Pick you butt and ask the interviewer to 'name that cheese'. This shows you can think out side the box.

Pretty much what most have said. Wear something business like, a tie would go over well. Have a firm, but not too tight hand shake. Be confident, but don't go boasting about yourself. Show interest in the job your applying for, and try to link previous experience with the job.

What? What kind of interviews do you usually go to? If they are significantly less than 30 minutes they definately see that they already dont want you and end it early.

Wear nice cloths, thinking about answers to questions, sound intelligent, and ask them some good questions. Show an interest.

1. Always make good eye contact

2. Project confidence (don't be headstrong or think you're better)

3. Stay calm and answer the questions cool, and collective. ;)

Ive only interviewed for summer jobs before. Never for a position that could turn into a full-time job. My interviews have only lasted 10 minutes, so im not used to a long interview..just made me nervous.

BTW, thanks for the advice to everyone. It's really helpful. I certainly appreciate it.

Just appear confident, if you go in there looking like a nervous bastard no one will hire you, I used to be like that and it was hell getting me first job, but after I saw that there was nothing to be afraid of I can go in pretty much any place and get a job that day, well so far I am 3/3 starbucks was the latest

My interviews are quite different since I'm not dead set on getting the job I apply for. I tend to interview the company more than they interview me, and I think it ends up helping me get the job I want. Not only do you avoid bad companies, but you also stand out in the interview since few interviewees ask any questions.

Also stay away from companies that ask generic questions, and don't do any sort of training. They tend to have employees that are completely incompetent.

thats a long interview. the ones ive been too arent that long. just shake the person(s) hand firmly and try to answer their questions as honest as possible. if you mention negatives, try to twist it around say how you're going to improve it. try to mention anything that you have done that may help you do your job if they havent ask you about it.
