Like if you are either a university/HS student, how do you crack the books?

I do a review of all my notes from the day every night and take notes on whatever books im supposed to read everynight as well. thats after the homework of course

In the event of a test, I cram every night for 1-2 weeks prior in the library. I review all the notes i have, write more notes from the textbook, then copy the notes into my phone so i can take them out and review later when im out and about.

enlighten me OT

I just skim through my notes the night before the exam and do well with the exam the following day. Reading the books and studying weeks in advance does nothing for me.

I take a quick look at my notes, maybe read something out of the text book, then it usually all just comes to me during exam.

Cram it all in at the last minute by skimming my books or doing online past papers.

I take new notes. Reading something doesn't help me remember, I have to write it down.

Studying for about an hour on at least three occasions before the actual exam. I didn't use to have to study, or I could get by just skimming the day of or night before, but not anymore.

HS = little to no need for me College: 1. go to class (almost never missed a class...like less than 5 in a decade) 2. take good notes 3. day before exam look at notes during commercials, while going to bathroom, in b/w classes...basically look at notes in short 5-10 minute bursts

Like a boss. Although, I'm not sure it's so good for my Chemistry teacher. I get the impression that he is terrified of me. Whenever I make eye contact, his voice cracks a bit. I'm not even glaring or anything. Well, not every time. Just during his lectures.

if it wasn't 'too soon', there would be a good university joke in there

Really depends on the worth of getting a high grade, when it's imporant I tend to summerize everything I have to learn. Very time intensive but it basicly guarantees a good grade, furthermore it is time efficient on the long run as I won't have to read the book ever again. (I seriously hate the overcomplexity and overkill of pointless information in most educative books)

If I don't have to get a good grade I simply don't learn or just skim through the pages.

This is how I do it. 1. Sit in front of class, not giving a ****. Boss. 2. Take diligent notes about everything professor says. 3. Read notes of the days class before bed. 4. Keep up with textbook readings, take notes on top of class notes. Read them before bed. 5. Do homework. 6. Ace tests.

I'll review old notes, readings and problems while taking new notes and solving new problems.

Always last minute though.

I study in a quite room with no distractions. I can't concentrate with music/talking etc. in the background. I can take in a lot of information in a short period of time, but I need to take breaks every 20 minutes or so to stay focused.

Oh, I try to avoid cramming before tests. I'll go over notes/keywords I've taken down in class and my school books when I have free time in preperation, usually starting a few days before a test starts.

Lets see... In uni it is reading a few hours each day, answer the questions to each chapter, take notes during lectures and before exams I need a couple of weeks with heavy repetition.

I cram and read over my notes, just depends on the situation.
