I hate cold weather, but on the other hand I'm happy that it's warm here most of the year.

Doing okay. Was worse last year(I think) because I didn't have a heater going.... aside from those portable electric ones. Plus, it has gone below freezing the last couple years(in central FL), no?

Hmmmm well its 10 degrees cooler here in Tampa, FL at 36F. My Iphone is telling me that it's gonna get to 28F tonight. I'm just grateful I have weekends off. I've been working outside at night all week in the cold while being sick and it sucks. I deal with it by wearing about 7 layers of clothes, gloves, beanie, heaters, staying inside, drinking, sleeping in.

I've been here for almost 2 weeks, and it hasn't been the best vacation. We picked the worst month to move my brother down here. But, its still warmer than where I usually live so I deal.

I'm sick of it. Today's 33 degree weather felt just as cold (if not colder) than the 7 degree weather I was experiencing in Ohio this time last year. It SNOWED in ORLANDO this morning!

Yeah, but northerners are used to it. South Floridians aren't. It's all relative. I just thought it'd be interesting to post this topic because millions of northerners (also known as snow birds)flock to Florida each winter expecting 70 degree conditions...

Everyone is forgetting that there are seabreezes here (Gulf & Atlantic). The air has more moisture here than in ND or MN, thus it feels quite colder than it is. It's at the freezing mark here, and rumors abound it might actually snow in central Florida.

Pfft, I'll believe it when I see it on the ground.:P

42 degrees ain't nothing.

Hell, right now in Northwest Florida, it has to be around the mid 20s. And that ain't nothing either.

All I was worried about was snow and black ice. But there's so far been no precipitation where I live, so no problem. I've seen it get colder here. In fact, it gets down to freezing every single year in my part of the state. So there's not much practical difference between 25 degrees and 32 degrees. Either way, it's technically "freezing cold". But it's still warm enough to not gripe about the temperature. It's not uncommon for people only a few states Northward to experience yearly temperatures that are near 0. So my attitude is that I'd might as well not complain. No reason to complain about how it's 25 degrees when people in Virginia are experiencing temperatures of 10 degrees.

Honestly, I have a cabin in north carolina and I've been to Wyoming on several occasions. The air here in Miami is very cold mostly because of the see breeze and moisture most likely. I wouldn't underestimate us south floridians if I was you northerners :D.

Many residents are probably annoyed because there are Canadians who reside there seasonally to escape the Canadian winter.

In all honesty, that's one of the nice things about Florida. Summers here usually don't get that hot. I'll be hearing about 110 degree heatwaves up North, while it's only a little bit above 90 in good old Florida. Probably has to do with the sea breeze.

On the other hand, the humidity here is a lot higher. So...85 degree summer temperatures make it feel like you're in the damn jungle. And that's not mentioning those daily summer rains. Where we get thunderstorms nearly every day, but the storm only lasts about an hour. It rains just enough for all that rain to get sucked right out of the ground and into the air the second that the sun comes out from behind the clouds. Which just REALLY raises the humidity and makes us say "omg, this sucks!"

But honestly, it's cold right now, but it isn't THAT bad. Summers are seriously worse than winters down here in Florida.
