I've got some news to share. This Friday will be my last day at GameSpot. An explanation: http://t.co/naeGfnnP2z

Sad to see just how much has changed within the last couple months and the last 2 years as a whole. Just feels like this website is slowly turning into an empty shell the same way gamepro had with that website and magazine.
He was cool best of luck to him
Gamespots front page primarily consists of lame advertizements and shows, that basically amount to lame advertizements. Aside from the odd decent Keven review and that Irish guy doing the odd decent Charlie Brooker style segment, not much going on. Outside of the forums, bit of a waste of time.

Someone who trolls as much as you do really isn't in any position to complain about a website.

Playing dumb won't help you. Sorry.
I really liked his reviews, but I'm intrigued to see what he is up to next. Man, the turnover rate of this site has been something else the past year or so
I hope he finds new opportunities, but I'm not going to lie I stopped caring about the main part of gamespot a long time ago. I still game and whatnot but the reviews, and getting excited for stuff when I haven't finished what is currently in front of me is just not that appealing anymore.
I can't remember the last time I used GS for gaming needs, which was well before I stopped gaming. Never thought of the website as a quality gaming-related one. With that said, it seems that the reviewers and gaming commentators are leaving one after the other. Coupled with the deterioration of the community and the sharp plummet in traffic, this can't be good news. I wonder where I'd go next.
Shame

Yeah man, the topic I made yesterday has zero comments on it which happens they can't all be great, but how is that shit still on the first page?
I don't know, I'll stick around here, but perhaps reddit has greener pastures.
Press X to Shaun? =(
Anyway, I wish him the best of luck. Wonder if Jess is going to take over GS and everything on the website (icons included) will have her face on it...

Well yea I too will stick around here for as long as possible. I was referring to what choices I'd have if it weren't possible anymore to stay around here either because of a severe decline in traffic, which is already lacking as it is now, or in the event of the site packing home and giving us all the finger.

I was frankly shocked when I came back and saw how slow things are here now, being an active member doing one of the busiest times of the site I never thought it could possibly become this slow. I still come by when I can and each time hope to find some renewed activity here, if this place ever closed I doubt I would bother with another gaming site forum, but there is something about this place that does keep me coming back and hoping. As far as using it for reviews and that sort of thing I've never relied on those much, normally just watching a few videos and knowing what kind of game it is has always been enough for me to know if I will like a game or not. Either way, best of luck to the writer leaving and hopefully it works out for him. :)
Everything went downhill real fast here when they did the huge "update" that removed a bunch of features people used frequently. Now this place is exactly the same as IGN. The front pages always have identical articles every day and don't do anything to stand out. However I still rather check Gamespot and IGN. I have been here since before Gamespot had proper forums.. just ZDNet boards that didn't have mods and users were required to use their full names as usernames.. that must have been almost 2 decades ago now.. it's sad to see what GS has become now. It seems like Kevin is the one that has kept this site alive through all the hard times. I think if he ever did leave this place would be even more of a ghost town. It is pretty crazy just how fast this place went downhill, but everyone was upset over the update and the response from GS was pretty much "deal with it we don't care" so I can't blame people for going. Heck, even I left for quite some time, I only just started checking the forums once in a blue moon and rarely post.
Anyway, I wish Shaun McInnis the best of luck and look forward to seeing what he does next. He will be missed.
Eh..... he wasnt anything special, he was ok... he kinda suck as a host for the terrible shows GS has had over the years.
But as a reviewer he was decent.
The only thing i can remember him for is for being the only only to give credit to TLoU multiplayer and for being the only one of the GS staff to actually play it.
Gamespot is lame since the dead of feedbackula
GS was a shitty site way before that... way before Feedbackula even started.
Turnover!? Has Gamespot actually been picking up new people or has it just been basically more losses and cutting??? After the whole Kane and Lynch thing, I have not been back for more than maybe read a random review or preview once every 6 months. I really only, but rarely pop on the forums now.

oh pulease ..... I was with gamespot since the 90's.... when they are still videogames.com
I feel as if GameSpot finally got it's editorial staff back to a great place after the mass exodus that occurred after Jeff Gertsmann and crew left, and now everyone is being laid off or leaving GameSpot.
