Saw a fictional TV show about man running for president....

It was an interesting show. In the fictional show, this man was announcing his bid for president using a shaky online platform. It turns out the platform was recently gutted by their dingus of a CEO and was woefully unprepared to host an event of this size.

Needless to say, calamity ensued.

Anyone else see this fictional show? Was wondering if you all had any thoughts?

Ooh, I hope this show ends up with the online platform losing money and shutting down, while its rivals face their own declines and impending demise.

That would be my personal happy outcome. Don't really care about the main plot of the show.

He was also really into going to paedophile parties. That's why he made sure every child was save. Weird episode that one.

It's really weird that they cast a guy from a reality TV show in a dramatic role. I mean, he was never convincing when he pretended to be a successful businessman for his other show, and his only other qualifications were as an extra in Home Alone 2.

I just caught the latest episode, where the failed-online-launch candidate openly vowed to destroy "leftism" if he wins - which means he'll either murder the majority of the population, or just deny them the freedom to express their political views.

I now remember why I hate this show. It has no nuance. I love Breaking Bad, because it's a show about a man's struggle to balance his evil with his humanity - you hate him and support him in equal measure. But this new fictional show has none of that complexity. This character is just a moustache-twirling villain, constantly vowing to destroy his opponents. He's all evil, all the time, without displaying any of the humanity that makes Walter White a compelling hero/villain.

It's like watching a Saturday morning cartoon, which is ironic given the story arc last season where the candidate failed to destroy a cartoon studio.

Because it's kind of cool and dangerous ofc, like an underground resistance movement. 😎 Much more evocative if you imagine everyone leaning against things in roll-neck sweaters and berets, casting sidelong glances and blowing thick plumes of smoke off unfiltered Gauloises cigarettes.

You can even throw in a quick shot of a child on a tricycle with a policeman's helmet if the symbolism isn't feeling suitably heavy-handed yet.

Next on the grifting billionaire show, I hear he could be pulling his app from Europe, dropping his commitment against the spread against disinformation like foreign election meddling, and rumored to be ready to remove his app from Europe entirely pending laws going into effect around the spread of disinformation. He also got FDA approval to start microchipping people's brains.
