It's a couple of months away, but the trailer got me interested. I read a couple of Sandman graphic novels back in the day. The actor has got the looks. Anyone else interested in this one?

Looks bad. World's too ordinary to be Sandman. Turning the pale goth girl Death black is lame. The filmmakers know they are supposed to be siblings, right? I didn't think they'd be able to do Sandman with a Netflix budget, and it seems I was right.

@warm_gun: You might be right. I read a little more about it. Seems like they are doing a Wheel of Time type casting.

@warm_gun: Siblings yes, but they are imortal, godlike beings who's appearance changes depending on who they are interacting with. Morpheus was black at the begining of the second book.

I want to see this, but can't really say I'm excited. Sandman was made to take full advantage of it's medium, and translating that to screen was always going to be difficult in the most talented hands. Ideally this would have been an animated series that changed art direction every season.

My hope is this turns out like Stardust. Different story and rejiggered characters, but captures the spirit of the graphic novel in a way more suited to the screen. We'll see.
