Russia is the only country in the world with the nuclear capability to destroy the U.S., according to Army Chief of Staff General Mark Milley. The General called Russia an existential threat to the U.S., speaking in front of the audience at the Defense One summit in Washington, DC on Monday.

Milley also considers Russia “aggressive” and “adversarial to the interests of the United States,” which is why Moscow’s nuclear weapons are capable of destroying the U.S.

The General warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent behavior suggest the country would be willing to use nuclear weapons. Milley also noted that Russia has been violating “the Westphalian order” ever since it started invading “sovereign nations” in 2008.

Milley has already called Russia an existential threat during his confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate back in July.

Nuclear apocalypse, here we go!

Actually the relationship between US and China seems to be better than current Russia and US one. Chinese premior just paid a visit to Washington and Chinese navy is currently taking apart in a bilateral joint exercise near Flordia.

China is the real threat, they own almost all debt the USA has, they have grown to be the largest supplier to the USA. If anyone can destroy USA it's China and with the biggest army in the world and growing immensely I can see them as a bigger threat than even the almighty Putin.

The cyber attacks all originated from China, hackers? I doubt it. China is gearing up for something.

The fact that china owns almost all US debt is a lie and im not sure who keeps spreading it. All foreign countries put together amounts to under 50%(this is just a ballpark percentage) of the US debt, china being the biggest holder of debt in that section. The federal reserve and other federal accounts account for most of our other debt including privater investors.

The good-ole-US-of-A has the firepower to destroy every other country in the world with nuclear AND conventional weapons. I swear American foreign policy has degraded into a "mine's bigger than yours!" proclamation ever since WWII. If every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction than what would that be for Vietnam syndrome? 9-11 syndrome?

@AFBrat77

Notice how they place our expenditures under "defense". It's laughable.

Actually the debt is the only reason why China isn't aggressive toward USA. It is not just the debt of USA. It is the debt of USA plus USA private businesses. If USA stop paying, China will hit a great depression like USA did. The debt is the only thing that keeps relationship together.

The debt and the fact that the U.S. is the largest export partner of China's. Their economy collapses without the U.S.

Russia, the US, and China won't go to war against each other. They're each too big to be conquered. Too bad for the small, proxy countries though. They're cannon fodder.

............. These countries are never going to go into direct conflict in less we are running out of global resources.. This is the global economy we are talking about here, these countries depend off the economies of one another due to international corporations spreading their infrastructures across the planet..

Perhaps the TS wasn't aware of the nuclear dagger still hanging over the world. What the end of the Cold War do was take the finger off the button. But, the nuclear dagger is still there. Despite the bilateral treaty scrapping thousands of nuclear warheads, thousands still remain poised to be launched.

It doesn't matter if you have Nuclear weapons. You need a way to deliver them. Russia, US and China have that capability. Could Russia drop a nuke over US territory successfully? Yes. But it'd take a major coup. A faked Soyuz launch.

We track everything. Every rocket Russia launches we have eyes on it. Can't hide that stuff. So with enough heads up a nuke can be intercepted.

A fake manned Soyuz launch can however delay that to the point where it'd be too late by time we figured out something was wrong. Same with China, same with USA.

Either way the next time a nuclear device is detonated for foul purposes it's the end of Human civilization.

No, it can't.

Bottom line, the majority of people want peace. The Russian people definitely have no intentions of sending a nuke to any country; the leaders of our countries are the dummies pointing fingers. This general is very biased and wants to militarize furthermore. Our state of mind is similar to that of WWI, nobody wants to back down Ex. KJB VS FBI, Communism VS Democracy, False Agendas, Crimea. It's history essential repeating itself!

Following this logic, any person who owns a gun presents an existential threat to me. The US exceptionalism is just tiresome already. Basically he says that only the US has the right to own a gun and to put the said gun to everyone's face at will for intimidation. But if someone pulls out a gun back at the US, the US starts whining like a spoiled kid that it's unfair and that only the US has a right to own a gun and point it at anyone's head if the US feels like doing so. The fact that the US presents as much if not bigger than Russia an existential threat to any country in this word is just brushed off because of freedoms...
