Moonlight won best picture, not LA LA LAND. Oscar fail.

Thank god, that sappy carefree happy bullshit makes me want to rage. Oh and anything celebrating LA...

Though I wouldn't say RIP, LA LA Land won six Oscars.

Cool. The more good movies I know about, the better.

Was I dreaming or did they announce La La Land won because they mixed up the announcement letters.

A ridiculous amount of wins for the La La Land, way over rated.

I personally loved La La Land. One of my favorites from last year.

It's a pretty sad movie, though.

@jaydan:

Yeah I thought La La Land was excellent, not sure if it was better than some other movies like Manchester by the Sea (tough call), but definitely an enjoyable movie.

I really don't understand why La La Land gets a lot of pompous crap from certain people that almost always boils down to "boohoo another Hollywood story." I thought the movie criticized Hollywood more than anything. "Hollywood worships everything yet values nothing" is a line I fondly remember, or how about the auditions always boiled down to the agents not even paying attention because they were more concerned about the creamers in their coffee than actually doing their jobs.

Beyond the thematic elements it was a technical marvel too. Gorgeous cinematography and editing all around that compliments the rhythmic flow incredibly well. This film and Whiplash both really put on display the talent of a rising filmmaker in my opinion.

I wonder if they made the blunder on purpose to create more buzz.

Buzz for what, though? La La Land currently stands with over 140mill at the box office. It's anything but unsuccessful. It's not like it was not already getting tons of buzz.
