http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/30/rim-changing-name-to-blackberry_n_2581969.html So, Rim is changing it's name to Blackberry, which will probably cause an identity crisis. The reason they gave is since its there only brand, and they need to be with the brand in order to give the company a cleaner image of what they are. Although all people with brains know they did this so that they can have a better chance of gaining peoples attention to buy there phones, and throwing blackberry on everything to recognize the name brand. Although that was not exactly much of an issue before. Personally I think RIM is the cooler sounding name but whatever, it;s not like they ever put their name on the blacberry's anyway like other companies do.

Makes sense. They need to revitalize their brand if they are to remain in business.

Not kind of. Miss a lot. That look and feel. That not being touch screen. Cool f*cking device, that was. But had to renew for 2 years and was able to swap without a lot of extra costs so picked out a new toy instead.

The ones with the Keyboars have touchscreens as well, and they have a keyboard version of the latest device as well.

Back in the day, having a Blackberry meant you were a high-end, G4 executive. Now, it means you can't afford an iPhone.

$350 for the Z10 even with a 2 year contract? That's iphone territory.

I was gonna consider one.

I never had them. My current cellular phone is a Motorola 139 (I think, i'm not sure the exact number). Sometimes I miss my old cell phone, the Nokia 1220.

S3 Galaxy phones are being sold for free with three year contracts. iPhone 5 are being sold for 180 bucks on a three year contract in Canada. Androids can mean a wide range of devices while if I'm talking about an iPhone, people generally understand that I'm talking about the iPhone 5.

I would think it's a bad idea to name your company after the name of your product brand. I guess they aren't willing to expand.

I still have my Blackberry and if the new Q10 seems like it's decent enough, I might actually get it. You just can't replace a physical keyboard.

does anyone else find 2013 to look ugly when it is written down? 2009 as well, I find that year number to be somewhat ugly looking, like when people would wear those 2009 glasses on New Years Eve back a few years ago?

Indeed, I had the same blackberry from 2006 to 2012 before I got an Iphone. The sales guy at the store laughed at me when I showed him what I still had. But i was a reliable little phone.

Yea, you especially can't replace a physical keyboard when one of the buttons sticks or breaks...
