I've seen this more and more recently, that the latest games in a series gets a really good review, depsite being awful by the series' standard. I first started to think about this when I heard a lot of people praise Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. After hearing what a good game it was, I just had to pick it up (got it on Steam), I've been a fan of the series since the first game, so it was a give that I had to try the newest one out. I played for maybe two hours before realizing that I really didn't like the game. It's nothing like the Ghost Recon I remember playing. So with that said, I think you really should play at least one of the earlier games in a series before judging the newest one.
I know some people may say that it's unfair, but my point is, if it named "Ghost Recon" it should play like a Ghost Recon game, if not, it should be called something else.
