Vampire Weekend is a fun little album. I'm also listening to some Cut Copy right now too. If you've never tried the Silver Jews though they're always a top rec from me.

If you want new age bands (meaning bands that came out in the 2000's) then Interpole,SilverSun Pickups, Audioslave, The Strokes and Muse are good for whats hot now. I highly recommend The SilverSun Pickups, there debut Album was my favorite album of 2007, its catchy but goes past the typical radio friendly tunes. If your looking for something that has a little more "depth" but is still mainstream friendly then Nirvana, System of a Down, Blink 182, Incubus, The white stripes, Foo Fighters. If you are looking to experiement with music, and actualy get into a more complex tone and lyrical composition then Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine inch Nails, Tool, The Smiths, The Cure, The Doors, and Radiohead are all good bets and have high quality albums.

Unless you listen to like 500+ metal bands, your range isn't broad enough. And I can guarantee you that I have a wide variety of metal bands I could list off that you've never heard of.

If all you're going to list is metal bands that's not a broad range of music either.

People might think this is some weak emo/poser crap, and I usually don't listen to bands like this, but The Confession is pretty damn good.

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright

Bullet For My Valentine - Tears don't fall

Bullet For My Valentine isn't much like Blink-182, you still need to check them out though. They're my favorite band ^_^
