Rap/Trap music. New school rappers

What do you think of the rappers and their music nowadays ? For example this Lil Pump dude is just 17 years old.

Rap genre went downhill and the new artists are just...meh.

I switched to rock. Though I like this NF guy. And I still enjoy Eminem music.

I haven't heard a decent new rapper since Eminem. I'm old though...so I remember when the Chronic came out, and when Biggie and Tupac were tearing shit up. It's funny, because new rap really does suck. I wonder how the cycle of people thinking new music sucks will continue. I love a lot of old rock as well...Beatles, Stones, lots of 70s rock. But yeah...new rap really, really blows. Hard. Give me Snoops, Dres, and Eminems please.

Most mainstream rap/hip hop is trash. In order to find the good stuff you have to listen to various radio stations around the world to find the good stuff. I mean the problem with most of it today is most artist won't use it as the platform to talk about what is wrong with society today, but instead we get lots of club bangers or songs worth listening to when high or drunk. I'm not saying those aren't songs worth making but you need some substance with your more just straight we out here livin' songs.

I'm into some trap beats.

LOL, Snoop saying it like it is. That "mumble rap" shit barely even deserves to be called rap, since all they're doing is autotuned mumbling over a trap beat.

Trap is okay though. It's just a modern interpretation of classic TR-808 beats that have been central to hip hop since the '80s. But modern hip-hop needs more variety, instead of relying so much on trap beats.

I don't listen to a lot of modern rap, except for some local UK grime... because they actually rap, unlike the mainstream US mumble stuff.

I miss when rap was good it's funny I can say the same about rock. Good music is hard to find these days the old shit is still the best.
