I love techno but have you noticed the trend of recent rap/hip hop releases? Flo-rida with right round, Black Eyed Peas, Jason Derulo, Ludacris, check this out also:

Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart

Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart Ludacris remix

And I actually can't believe I am saying this because I don't like rap but I actually like this song, the Ludacris version as well.

Most mainstream stuff should be considered Pop music, just because there is a guy rhyming doesnt mean its rap.

Sounds pretty terrible either way you listen to it, as far as remixes go it was rubbish.

Not really hip-hop has always been about taking influence from other genres musically, it's just a lot of the younger producers listen to techno and hip-hop and are mixing it rather than the older producers that listened to soul/blues/hip-hop and mixed it.

Actually Daft Punk praised Kanye sampling their music and performed with him at the Grammies; then seem to like it when hip-hop artist use their music; because they also praised Busta Rhymes sampling of them for his song Touch It.

You mean hip-hop where they only sampled Soul, Blues, and Disco? I love that sound too, but I love it when a producer uses a sample from another genre like techno, 80's rock, international music.

I think it depends on the DJ really, If you give DJ Alchemist some techo samples he is bound to make gold but like this song its so unoriginal and just cut and paste.

Really? Because even Daft Punk themselves referred to the song he made as "exciting" and "a step in the right direction."

I'm well aware of that, but I personally believe he butchered the song :P.

Maybe I'm just not a Kanye fan. Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and Gym CIass Heroes is where it's at :P.
