Maybe Mainstream Hip hop and rap but Underground has never been better.

Techno mixed in with hip hop is getting kinda old after hearing itso much recently. And hip hop has been WAAAYYYY better btw.
Most mainstream stuff should be considered Pop music, just because there is a guy rhyming doesnt mean its rap.albi321you have a real good point.
Not really hip-hop has always been about taking influence from other genres musically, it's just a lot of the younger producers listen to techno and hip-hop and are mixing it rather than the older producers that listened to soul/blues/hip-hop and mixed it.
Actually Daft Punk praised Kanye sampling their music and performed with him at the Grammies; then seem to like it when hip-hop artist use their music; because they also praised Busta Rhymes sampling of them for his song Touch It.I just stopped listening to mainstream after Kanye butchered Daft Punk...

i wanna bring back the old school hiphop were it didnt sound like hip/pop, hiphop and rock mixed together and i notice rap is turning to techno
You mean hip-hop where they only sampled Soul, Blues, and Disco? I love that sound too, but I love it when a producer uses a sample from another genre like techno, 80's rock, international music.i wanna bring back the old school hiphop were it didnt sound like hip/pop, hiphop and rock mixed together and i notice rap is turning to techno

Really? Because even Daft Punk themselves referred to the song he made as "exciting" and "a step in the right direction."

I'm well aware of that, but I personally believe he butchered the song :P.
Maybe I'm just not a Kanye fan. Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and Gym CIass Heroes is where it's at :P.
