"A tornado warning has been issued for your area."

Sup guys? There's tornado touching down really close to my house and everyone in the local area is advised to seek shelter immediately. But me, being the rebel I am, am instead sitting her discussing this with you on an internet forum. It already destroyed an elementary school a few miles away, from what I've heard.

im going through the exact same tornado warning.

i live in Mascoutah, about 20 miles from St. Louis

I get those but do nothing because tornados rarely hit around here we usually just get high winds.

That's nothing. I sit on the porch during storms. One time a tornado pulled up a huge tree that was literally thirty feet away. I even got hit with a bird. They hurt when they're thrown at tornado speed.

While there is no tornado warning here or even a watch, the storms are supposed to be headed to the Atlanta area tonight, about the time of the Peach Drop. I think I will stay in. I took this picture in March of 2009, one year after a tornado hit downtown Atlanta, not far from where the Peach Drop is held.

Watch the TV show Stormchasers that is shown on the Discovery Channel. You will see that you do not want to experience one. I have seen 4 foot diameter oak trees torn out of the ground by them.

I was looking at that news site and the governor has declared a state of emergency.

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon signed Executive Order 10-27 in response to the widespread devastation caused by severe weather on New Year's Eve.

The weather system unleashed high force winds and tornadoes in communities across the state, resulting in the deaths of at least three people. Several people were also injured, and extensive damage occurred to homes, buildings and property, including Ft. Leonard Wood in Pulaski County.

Missourians who need disaster information, shelter information and other referrals are asked to call 211. In places where the 211 service is unavailable, people should dial 800-427-4626.
