Say in the near future, someone develops cutting edge robotic legs and arms that are faster, stronger, lighter and more durable than our own. They look real, they never run out of power, they're always as strong as you want and if something breaks it can be replaced without an issue....essentially they are better in every way,

Now say you are offered to promote these devices, and free of charge you can have all your limbs amputated and replaced with the prosthetic ones. Forget about the complications of surgery, it just works 100% of the time. Would you go for it?

Me, I probably wouldn't. When I started writing I was all like "HECK YES!" but now I think I'd freak out knowing that I'm essentially a torso with some machinery attached.

And yes they can feel sensations if you want. Basically you can set the sensitivity.

Probably not, considering you could not feel any sensation in them.

Only if I can look like this guy

cyborg

Seriously though, if they're so advanced they surely would have the technology to make us feel sensations on those limbs.

if 100% no chance of anything going wrong, get full sensation, and no battery pack needed, then yes.

I'd get a new left forearm and hand, so I could surprise people like will smith in irobot lol. I'm assuming that the prosthetic limb is very durable so I could punch concrete, otherwise no dice

Haha Terminator style. Just whip out a huge knife and start carving it down your forearm.

No I wouldn't want my arms or any other body part cut off for some prosthetic. I'd rather keep my real limbs, thank you.

If I had feeling in them yeah, and of course they looked cool, like a really strong Terminator arm would be sweet.

Yes, no risk, just benefit. Hell, don't stop at the limbs, replace everything, 'cept the brain, sorta can't replace that.

Well, if it retains my current consciousness, that's fine.. but if it's just a copy of me, then it's useless, since I'd just die.

I hated my prosthetic, so unless it is the same as real I'll take an actual arm any day.

Nothing worse then chaffing from your elbow to your nubs :(

Hmm, maybe. That's a tough one. I don't like the idea of getting my limbs cut off, but prosthetics would be really cool.

Sig very related.

Not voluntarily. The idea of something getting removed from my body freaks me out. ffs getting the wisdom teeth out still makes me queasy whenever there are teeth-related horror scenes. I'll stick to all natural, thanks.

Then yes. The brain is basically a processor for sensations, so as long as they can recieve input and be intepreted by my brain why not? Only difference is what they're made out of and how well they perform.

Edit: Getting the guts the go through with the surgery would be another issue though, but the idea of prosthetic limbs like that I can get on board with.

crap forgot about that. ok another feature - able to turn off sensation by thought lol
