POLL: Who is the better horror movie icon - Freddy or Jason?

Freddy fer sure.

Freddy. Going in to people's dreams is terryfing. Also, his face is weird.

I think Freddy is the more interesting character, but Jason is the better icon. That hockey mask is ubiquitous when it comes to horror.

I'll go with Freddy for actually having a personality. A better match up would have been Chucky from "Childs Play" instead of Jason. :P

I'm more into Pinhead and friends.

Freddy Krueger without a doubt. All Jason Voorhees does is kill "bad" teenagers

Jason is a better representation of American horror movies but Freddy is scarier

IMO Freddy is the better icon, that jumper and those claws *shudders*.

I know Freddy is but I like Jason. So being the person I am i'm gonna choose Jason.

Thats a hard one since they are both legendary. But when I was a kid, I was more scared of Freddy then Jason.

Certainly Freddy. His perverse sense of humor and bad puns made even the worst of the sequels highly entertaining. Plus he was already created by the time the first movie in his franchise was made.

Jason Voorhees was an afterthought in the first movie and didn't even don the iconic hockey mask til the third. He really just feels like an imitation of Michael Myers for the most part, doesn't say a word, manages to catch his victims in spite of a lumbering pace and so on.

I do agree that his mask is an icon of horror but no more so than Freddy's claws, hat, and striped sweater.
