So I was listening to Black Sabath's first album and was in awe how massive this album was - especially considering the era it came out in. I became curious about what Ozzy has been up to since that Crazy Train thing...

I can't believe how outdated and bad this music is. It's like the Soulja Boy of Rock'n'Roll / Metal.

Meh it's alright, probably would be way better if he wasn't so messed up from all the drugs way back when. But to say Ozzy is on par with Soulja Boy because some of his recent stuff isn't as good as it used to be is silly. You can't just write off what he's done in the past, he's still someone you have to show some respect if you like rock or metal.

Nowadays, yes, I can't fathom that he actually wrote anything on the last album he came out with. Most modern, popular rock is silly and outdated. I swear most of these bands got together by saying "hey I can play a few chords in drop d" "yeah and I can sing terribly into a noise a ma jigger let's start a band!", it's like we had this awesome 90's sound and then since 03/04 every single band set out on a mission to destroy it by attempting to improve upon it.

Real rock talent has to be imported once again save for a few bands.

Let Me Hear You Scream......anyway most bands hang around the gig too long. Look at the Stones...have they been relevant since the late 70s/early 80s?

This.

I read your topic title and nearly laid a duece in my pants thinking this could not be possible. But seeing as you're talking about his newer stuff I'll cut you some slack but comparing to Soulja Boy? No never.......ever...... EVER.

Dio was the better Sabbath singer.

It's not hard to find a LOT of terrible Ozzy music – if you need a good laugh, I'd recommend his cover of Sunshine of your Love. I really do like some of the stuff he did with Sabbath, but even then the band could have easily existed and been successful without him (and for a long time it did!)

Ozzy worked with some very talented people in the past, but he was never actually particularly talented himself.

His solo stuff is pretty bad over all.

But, anything he did with Black Sabbath is gold. Supernaut is an amazing song.

I loved Ozzy till he made the Osbournes tv show. That kinda killed alot of the positive feelings I had toward the man. I still like his music though just never go out of my way to listen to it. I am also one of the few who prefers his solo material to when he was in Black Sabbath.
