Has anybody watched Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin? A couple of friends recommended this to me. Seems a little dark and depressing compared to the average anime.

So, I considered checking out Shokugeki no Soma, but after seeing a few images I became a bit, erm, gunshy? Anyone have any experience with the manga that can offer insight towards this particular anime?

Its an intense shounen cooking manga with out of place fanservice.( how in the hell do you strip just by testing food. WTF japan.) It is enjoyable but the mangaka needs to fix his pacing issue.

I really don't like to break the ice here, but I got one good question for an anime lover.

Q: What do you prefer, watching the episodes or the OVA or both?

for me it's both, because Acchi Kocchi defines comedy and romance just as right as it is

@Smashbrossive50: Both. Not watching OVA's, specials, movies, etc. feels as though you missed on half of a series.

@crimsonbrute: and they say that by watching a special episode or OVA might reveal what the protagonist's actual life before the main episodes,or looking for an alternative story. take a look at Elfen Lied for example,I pretty much see the OVA before the whole show(sans episode 9,in which I regret watching) but in Acchi Kocchi's case,it's so special it's memorable.

I might start watching the most recent version of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The manga is spectacular, so I would give it a chance.

I watched up until the 2nd episode and it was frigging great. I want to watch the latest episodes but don't have the time.

Anyways, anyone watched Aoi Bunguka? I've watched the first three episodes and it seems like an epic show.

I watched the first series a few years ago and it was absolutely epic I concur. Emotionally devastating and an engrossing mind-**** that holds its own in the genre. I still have it on my laptop and that's saying something since I generally don't keep animes, shows or movies because of limited storage unless they're exceptionally good material of a certain value to me. Funny enough, you reminded me of the fact that I added the torrent of the whole series a few weeks ago for download later but I totally forgot about it. I originally came here to perhaps confer with someone about what to watch next since I finished Gankutsuou last night. Guess I'll finally get around watching the whole series.

To reiterate folks, Gankutsuou is one amazing anime can't believe I almost forgot about it. Watch it NOW. My only bane with the show was the relatively meek ending but its not that bad so it shouldn't deter you from the show at all. It doesn't detract from the overall experience and it certainly isn't worse than most ending of animes of its tier out there. I think I'm picking up on a pattern here. Most high production values animes with polished plots/casts and top-notch soundtrack/visuals tend to have mediocre endings in comparison to the greatest bulk of the show. Its like the true value of these animes lies in the overall experience leading up to the finalization of the series rather than having the work culminating at the end per one's expectations. It'd be nice if an anime could do both right, the work in its entirety and the ending, but if I had to choose I'd be content with a mediocre ending preceded by a captivating and intense experience that was well worth it.

@GazaAli: I watched the first two episodes of Aoi Bunguka and I fell for it. It's simply amazing. Though I had to layoff on it for a bit to finish Monster that has long been overdue. Only last 4 episodes remain and then my next stop will either be Gankutsuou or Aoi Bunguka.

Believe it or not I'm yet to finish Monster myself which I started back in late 2013 or early 2014 can't remember. There are some 10 episodes remaining I think. Also, I just made some popcorn and came to turn on episode 5 of Aoi Bungaku but decided to stop by and check GS and found this comment in my notification :3

And yes please do watch Gankutsuou, you won't be disappointed.

Meanwhile I still haven't touched a single episode of any anime, Monster or not, since we last talked about that. Wait I think I watched a Nichijou episode can't remember.

Seriously though I'm aiming for a marathon tonight. Hopefully I won't get sidetracked, again.

Don't login to any site that's the secret. I have resolved to not login to that addicting site called MAL for at the very least, the whole month. And in just one day, I can see the outcome. Though, I miss my tomadachis there. But I'll have to bear with it nonetheless.

I've been spending a little too much time here to be honest. I think I'll take a break soon. That circumcision topic kept me coming for more rofl

It's surprising how you can be more interested in your penis than getting into a relationship.

oh you mean attack of the weeaboos? Yeah I was attacked too for criticizing a popular mainstream anime. But I don't get the fuss they make when people say animes are cartoons. Come on its just a word people.

Anime ARE cartoons by definition, it's pretty much a no-brainer and anyone who says otherwise is a loser weeaboo moron who loves to make meme pictures on what anime "really is like" when someone says anime is a cartoon whenever they get their panties in a twist. Here in the west however, we consider them Japanese cartoons but if you were to go to Japan and ask someone what is their favorite anime then they would respond by saying a cartoon like Spongebob is their favorite anime.

Well I don't recommend it cause the series is not finished. You gotta read the manga if you actually want some closure.

That's a bummer cuz I don't read manga but I'll go ahead and watch this anyway. Sometimes the journey matters and not the destination. :P

Well then it will depend on how much I'll desire closure to the anime once I finish it.

Can anyone recommend something similar to Ouran Highschool Host Club? I finished it a while ago and One Piece hasn't been satisfying me the way Ouran did... maybe I should get back to Hunter X Hunter instead of OP...

Oh and also, is Hajime no Ippo worth watching? I watched the first 15 episodes or so, but sorta forgot to continue watching.

Have you guys heard the news? Apparently Sony Pictures has registered multiple Attack on Titan domains.

Thoughts?
