OT, how do you handle Weeaboos?

Let me explain what happened. I went to FYE at the local mall and went to the Poster section. Well the Poster Sections are located near the Anime/Manga section. As im looking to see if they had a Alice Madness Returns Poster I see a couple of guys(Who were no where near asian) scanning the Manga section. They looked at me for a decent amount of time and I was a little freaked out. I literally could hear them to as they were questioning if I was Korean or the Holy Japanese race that they urged to become. Well I totally ignored them and figured out they didn't have the poster I was looking for so I shift right into the manga section and sort of looked at some bleach stuff. The group shifted to the poster section and were scanning the posters. All of a sudden I hear " OMG SAKURA IS SO KAWAII!!!!" :evil: Why!? Why!? say that . If your gonna say that at least say it correctly...

OT, have you ever encountered Weeaboos?

Although this is the original definition, on the internet these days it's generally used for any non-asian person that demonstrates a reasonable or fairly learned knowledge of asian culture especially when it's greater than their own and thus it's become something of a racist slur.

Haven't really encountered any in real life. I know several people (including myself) who really enjoy a lot of anime/manga, though.chessmaster1989

I'm a bit of a weeaboo myself. I mean, I don't strive to be Asian or anything, but I like Japanese culture as well as Japanese things in general, such as anime, manga, video games, and I usually play my games with Japanese voices on if given the choice. If I meet someone who says kawaii instead of cute or pretty or whatever, and who strives to be Asian, and all the other actual weeaboo qualities, I'll just walk away.

It annoys me because my brother is one...

-Wishes he knew Japanese

-Is going on and on about how he believes Japan is better than Canada

-Will only ever talk to me about history if its Japanese history

-Always talks about noodles

-And has looked up the Japanese names and inspirations behind pokemon... He also spends his free time looking at pokemon wiki.. and im pretty sure he even edits it.

I love the Japanese culture, and the Chinese culture for that matter.

I use chopsticks at Asian restaurants.

I like anime.

I've never cosplayed.

I've never said the word "kawaii."

I'm not a virgin.

Ponyaboos? vegetarian-haters?

I tend to stay away from anime sites, since there are a good portion of them that I can't handle talking to for more than a few minutes.
Not to say all of them are like that, some anime fans are quite smart.

I have have yet to really encounter them IRL.

Never met any in my life.

I ignore them or tell them Naruto sucks. That usually shuts them up.

Who came up with the name? it sound like something a child would come up with. That being said, I believe I have run into those who fit the apparent description.
