Old site vs. New Site

Cool story bro.

The new site is a POS. I can not get a single video to work at all, and before you say its my comp i have no probs on any other fucking website. If your gonna have a new site make sure it works. This is nothing against gamespot i like your shows and reviews so make sure i can actually watch them. Please and thank you.

And I was level 37, now I am level 36.

Is there anyway to see my followed list? Also I can't see an option to comment on blogs.

In your feed there is a box with your username and avatar picture in it. It also list your number of followers and following. You can click the number and it gives you the list of everyone on it. And currently it doesn't look like there is an ability to comment on blog posts. Just on someones wall. I would imagine, or hope at least that that function will become available in time.

Looks a little too much like IGN for my taste. It's alright I guess and I can deal.

I don't see why anyone is surprised. Slow loading and bugs are normal for new website redesigns. Just be patient.

New site is slower

I need a way to sort my "stack" by release date. I normally like to buy the oldest games first off my wish list.

It's better than getting smacked in the face with a stick with dog poo on it.

I dunno, navigating this new "updated" site is pretty bad.

It's hard to say which would be worse.

The new site although it's not hard to navigate it sure as hell makes navigating and getting to a certain section a lot slower.. and unlike the old one.. most of the information was just right there in your face.. in this one i feel like i have to look for it scrolling down. The forums do seem cleaner though.. i'll give + to that.. and i like the Review format now even though it looks like IGN's looks sexy.. but the front page itself needs another rework IMHO.

I can't even tell what's going on in the front page. It's like the html barfed out a bunch of tiles.

It's too early to say for sure but as of the moment this new version is completely horrible and seems like a huge mess. As some others have said the site is very slow in comparison to the other. Most of my opinions I will have to keep to myself but hopefully the site will be vastly improved. Good luck!

Why is it so slow?

Where'd the dark background theme go? This white background hurts my eyes.

Although this one is more aesthetically pleasing, it is a little more difficult to navigate.

Considering they made it much harder to actually get to any NEW news, or find any NEW games (it gives me links to 2007, and 2011 games, hardly "new releases"
It's challenging to think of something that's improved on this "new site".

Hope they got a rollback plan in place, cause this new site is basically total shit.

That "code from the 90's" that they were complaining about was CODE THAT WORKED that was loaded with useful features. Why on earth anyone would decide it would be a great idea to rebuild all of that is a complete mystery.

And all the use of Flash? HILARIOUS. I guess tablet/smartphone users aren't included in the target audience anymore?

The new site IS incredbly slow, I can't find the various articles that are NOT reviews. You've put the reviews right up front, which would be fine, if that's all that people want to read. I also had a really hard time just logging in.

I really hope that you guys realize that you've taken a really easy-to-use website and turned it into a maze.

Addendum: What my first thoughts are on this site (in video form)!

I like it, I feel like its missing several features like the ability to download videos and demos and files in general, obviously certain aspects in the profile were cut, but its very easy to navigate actually.

I mean you have the new games section, you can select games by platform, then you have the reviews section and you can also make it show reviews by platform, then you have the news section and you can choose a boxed display or list display which is nice, then you have the videos section and can select through gameplay, interviews, previews, reviews, etc... finally you have the forum and you have your profile which has the major features like reviewing and rating games and the blog section.

I honestly don't mind it for the most part, but the forums are a another story. I guess if we had our avatars and sigs it'd be less a pain, but the layout just seems god awful.

My first impression is that it is frustrating because lots of stuff is not working. But slowly stuff is starting to work, this is to be expected. A couple of things that are bothering me is there's no podcast gamplay and lots of the video's just won't play. I hope these problems get fixed soon, with out hearing and seeing some of the people that work here the site feels very sterile.

Am I alone in hoping that Gamespot brings back Button Mashing with this new look to their site? I loved that show dearly and was one of the most entertaining original programs they air back in the early to mid 2000's.

So long as I don't full screen, and with people getting their images back, I find the forums are a lot easier on the eyes.

Yes, the white theme is absolutely terrible. I can deal with the black but I don't know how someone looked at the white theme and though, yes, that looks good.
