Old site vs. New Site

I didn't like it in the beta, and I don't like it now. I can put up with a new look and user interface (that I don't see any improvement in, btw) and I can deal with all the bugs in the world, but they've either taken away or merged things that I would've really preferred to be left alone.

There's no community-made editorials on the homepage, which I miss because that's what made me make this account in the first place.

The new feed system with the "awesome features of Fuse" is a complete joke. You can't even comment on statuses! Also, why can't we select what kind of updates we want to see in it, like set it to where we just get status updates, or blog updates, etc. I really don't care what forum(s) my friends are posting in.

I really don't think this is an improvement over the old site. This is all my opinion, of course.

Yeah... I was experimenting on the Madden board trying to find the Sports board (like I found the Legacy board). It didn't work. I couldn't edit/delete my post either. I hope I'm not modded...

Love the new site it's a little more cluttered but prefer it.

Usernames are cut off on the side of the post, but the full username is at at the top.

well at least peoples levels are gone, now everyone is equal.. none of that high level superiority crap some users get just because they been here for 10+ years

Well this site isn't done being made that much is obvious...

Everyone was equal before. Sure ppl had "I reached _____ post" parties, but nobody seemed to act superior to other posters because of it.

you can still see levels. Profile > Trophies

Can't wait for the next site overhaul. >.> Hopefully it's easier on the eyes and gets a personality.

I like what I've seen so far. I'm still exploring it but it has good potential. I'm sure it will feel more natural after a couple weeks. No different than learning how to use a fight stick really.

Is anyone actually going to go through all of that trouble?

I miss the item under the "News" heading that showed all the new releases for the given week. Was a great way to know what's coming up.

It's under Games > New Games now.

Just noticed there's no ads whatsoever. That's a plus. :D

This isn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting it to be. It just feels like it doesn't have the character that the old forums did. Regardless, it'll take time to get used to like anything. So far, I can live with it.

I'm sure it'll get better.

@Allicrombie: I'm hoping it does... Still need a sports board. Gonna keep driving that point home until we get one.

You know, I hate the fact that post history doesn't show if a new post was made in a thread or not. Kinda make it hard to figure out if I should revisit a thread that I posted in....

Of course it will. Just give it time and the site will become familiar to us and all the kinks will be worked out.

Why not wait until it actually IS better to release it :s

This new site feels really weird.I guess I met get used to it later on.

The old site might have been a broken mess at times but we were used to it dammit!

New Website quite Slow!

My Profile name does not appear anymore!

No Download Video Option anymore!

I liked the Prefix "169_" which were used when renaming the Videos; I do not see it anymore. This usually attracts my attention about GameSpot Videos, to which I give priority, as I download lots of Videos everyday!

Will take some time to adapt to this new design!

It's a huge change. Some things are better and some are worse. But I have the feeling the site is still in beta: it's really slow and we can't change our Judge Dredd Avatars :s

I'd prefer this forum except for one thing, and GS......I don't know how in the hell you either missed this or are refusing to put it in: there's no way to see the "unread" posts in forum history. Wtf are you guys thinking? Do you know how incredibly inefficient it is to have to go through each page to find my posts rather than the old way which required only clicking on my post or the number? I went to Giantbomb, same thing. Yet no one's complaining so I feel like I'm missing something that everyone's getting.

Can you please answer how to get to my LAST post in a particular thread from my history (not my first post, or the topic).

I don't mind changes, but not when it causes the loss of such vital and basic functionality that should be up and running from the moment the site goes up.

I prefer the old site.........i don't like the new style.

As of right now, the old site. The new site feels unfinished, for example, I can't upload images of ANY kind. Plus, the Unions are gone.

This version is quite confusing thus far. I am not really sold on it either.

I like the new site, it will take a bit to get used to it just like anything that's new. However I still think it needs some tweaking, like the new video player, the old one was bad but this one doesn't work at all. Also the site seems kinda slow, not only while browsing but even while scrolling up and down a page (but that might be my pc's fault though it didn't happen on the old site). Oh and I'm glad I can finally set black background and white text again, since it got bugged on the old site like a year ago or more I think and I had to press 3 times that button to switch between the 2 options each time I'd visit the site.

So I disabled adblock for this site since I read around that videos don't start because of it and I'm glad the ads aren't that intrusive but the video player still is partially bugged it starts playing only if it's on the smallest size at start, afterwards you can enlarge it's window and it plays ok until you open a new video on wich you`ll have to reduce the size for it to start playing. I like that it remembers your video player size, but it should be able to start playing on all sizes.

@Laihendi: Mine is also forever gone, can't change it too since the whole site goes up in flames the moment I click on my profile page.

And what the flying fudge is it with this new quoting system?!?!

Anyway, I'll try my best to get used to it first before I criticize anything, but I won't deny that I do not like it so far, its painful to look at and everything just feels so...muddled. Also they destroyed the whole Fuse community because it being separate from GS is somehow an utterly monstrous thing, nice one guys!
