i think its to young. they wont even have to worry about sex for like another 10 years so why educate them now?Blitz_Nemesisit helps to about a situation BEFORE you are in it in order to really make a good decision when faced with the situation. now kindergarten is a little young I believe mainly for the fact that they are too young to care and/or pay attention, but also I realise that sex ed for grade schoolers is more than likely just gonna be about the fact that boys are different than girls and all that stuff. Its not like they are gonna bust out condoms for 1st graders. People really misunderstand what sex education is because all they hear is the word sex and they think automatically of trojans and doggy style.
same here. it was like 3rd grade for me i believe.I am more concerned with us needing to stop our retarded "abstinence only" sex education, but hell this isn't a bad idea.
Come to think of it, at the end of Elementary school I do remember having a minor sex-ed course. Granted, it was pretty much just about puberty and the boys and girls were taught separately, but I remember they gave us these little packs with deoderant and I think toothpaste or something....

People, I really doubt its going to be like what we got in mid-late Elementary or Middle school. Kindergartner's wouldn't even understand half of it. I think that it would be something like "Boys have penises, girls have vaginas" and "When your mommy and daddy love each other, they make a baby" in cute, simple terms that they can digest without too much confusion.
I can just imagine a cIass filled with children, watching a hardcore porno movie!
"Mommy? What is that man doing to that woman? It looks like she's in pain."

like to exaggerate much?I think it's great that they start learning sex education at that young of age. Just look at the amount of teenagers getting pregnant.
Besides this will help American kids learn more. America's education system is like a third world country.

Daddy, did you ever poop on Mommy when she was naked :P?
See, thats one thing I hate about him. He thinks that every person is from the ghetto or living in oppressed areas where kiddies start having sex by 4th grade, where they are doing drugs by like 5th grade and stealing by 6th grade. Seriously, I really didnt even start thinking about sex until I was like 14 years old...and even then it was still one of those...long ways off things. Drugs...never got into them and stealing, never did. He will make a terrible president because he is only thinking about one class of people here...not the entire country.ice_radon
So stealing is worse than sex and drugs :??
no that would make the whole world seem weird for them. plus they probably wont understand it, i think it should be saved until 5th-6th gradelukie_pieI've heard stories of kids who become sexually active at that age. It's disturbing but it happens, still I'd say 4th grade at the oldest. Let them keep their innocence for a little while.
People should actually read the article.. here are some quotes
"sex education for kindergarteners, as long as it is "age-appropriate," is "the right thing to do."
"But it's the right thing to do," Obama continued, "to provide age-appropriate sex education, science-based sex education in schools."
"does not support teaching explicit sex education to children in kindergarten. . . "
'Nobody's suggesting that kindergartners are going to be getting information about sex in the way that we think about it,' Obama said. 'If they ask a teacher 'where do babies come from,' that providing information that the fact is that it's not a stork is probably not an unhealthy thing. "
"...also envisioned teaching kindergarteners about "inappropriate touching,"
yes, but you see, people here most likely won't even click the link and half of those that do are too stupid to actually read the contentPeople should actually read the article.. here are some quotes

If by sex education you mean to tell them what is a penis a vagina pregnancy and things like that, without MUCH DETAIL, I agree. There is nothing wrong with it. You asre just telling them what they have in their body. However, if that means educate them about intercourse, sexual addictions and dieeases, that is too soon for them.curonoNothing wrong with it? I didn't even understand the video in 5th grade that well, and making things vague is worse, because they are then wondering what its all about. I'm not saying they'll go and do it, but I'm sure parents wouldn't have fun with that, and kids these days consult google over parents half the time, even in kindergarten. :-\

They teach you guys that? Our Health teacher was trying to give us tips on how to not get caught.
Yeah, most sex ed teacher's aren't the parents greatest allies. My friends teacher is a lesbian who teaches things like how not to get caught and why you SHOULD have sex >_> We don't have a sex ed teacher at my H.S.[QUOTE="Thechaninator"]I am more concerned with us needing to stop our retarded "abstinence only" sex education, but hell this isn't a bad idea.

Our teacher's advice was basically this:
Condoms: Make love, not babies
The kids will be exposed to it so much grwing up its best that they learn what sex and all that is so they learn the difference between right and wrong.BlackPhoenix103Why is that best? Kids wouldn't even know about sex before 7th grade if it weren't for television and bone headed parents. The last thing this world needs is even YOUNGER people knowing about sex and how its done. We already have one ****ed up generation of sexed up teens at the moment, we don't need sexed up preteens, and younger. Surely they will figure out, maybe before the 5th grade, but in kindergarten they just won't understand, its not only a waste of funds, its a waste of time teaching 5 and 6 year olds about sex.
