I've been on the hunt for something to watch after finishing Daredevil (which was phenomenal). Can't believe it got cancelled (not surprised though).

I've seen Castlevania, the other Marvel shows, and Stranger Things.

Does anyone know a series on Netflix that's roughly on par with Daredevil? I don't care about genre or any limitations of the sort.

Altered Carbon. Top-notch sci-fi, just pay real close attention or you will get lost.

Altered Carbon is a really good one.

The Expanse too but it is a bit slower paced.

Black Mirror it's like a modern Twilight Zone but much darker.

I tried getting into that for the second time recently. I just had to turn it off. Angry Latina Cop is insufferable. One of the worst TV characters I've ever seen.

El Chapo is a pretty good alternative to Narco, but the English dubbing is really bad.

If you stick with it you'll get an explanation.

Some series I enjoyed. Not saying they are particularly good, but I enjoyed them. And I loved Daredevil, so you never know:

  • Dark Matter: funky little sci-fi series with some great characters. It's like if Firefly decided to go serious and dark, but maintained the corniness.
  • The rest of the Marvel series; Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Punisher...even the much-loathed Iron Fist. I mean if you like Daredevil you might as well see the rest. Oh yeah and The Defenders, that's all of them together (sans Punisher :( )
  • Black Mirror: as others have said, it's a modern Twilight Zone. Emphasis on how modern tech is taken too far. Really good. There are a couple weird ones, but most are delightfully odd.
  • Happy: scummiest of scumbag cops (actually, ex-cop) somehow takes on the imaginary friend (a blue flying unicorn named Happy) of a little girl. I'm only a few episodes in, and it's kind of weird, but I'm really liking it. Prepare to feel dirty after watching it, though, it's incredibly dark, gritty, and...dark.
  • Sherlock: really really fun show starring the great Benedict Cumberbatch and the always-great Martin Freeman. Modern retelling of Sherlock Holmes, great acting, over the top but not too over the top as to be hokey.
  • Ash vs Evil Dead: name says it all. Amazing series with the one and only Bruce Campbell. Lucy Lawless is great in it as well.

Plus she is very pretty. So is the guy's sister. Tibetan and Australian, damn what a lovely mix.

Poe was the standout character for me. I wanna be just like Poe when I grow up.

He was arguably my favorite. I love how he goes from this disregarded novelty from older times to this sentient (or was he?) AI.

You know, this was one of those shows I had to watch twice just to understand everything. Poe's arc was great, but his first real scene (not counting the video advert earlier) when Takeshi was checking in...best.intro.evar.

Mindhunter is imho the best series on Netflix.
