It has to be like for instance. A true fact is Corn is being considered as a fuel source.So write a story about someone who is living in a world of corn as a fuel source.

They will help you a lot, to develop ideas, and to check out your draft.

There would be a lot of difficulties in the climax of global warming (like when things really start getting bad, as if they aren't bad now).

For one, you can try to have your character be a farmer, who has to leave the place where his family has lived for generations, because of the (I forget the scientific term, learned this in geography last year) thing where ideal crop locations move poleward. Not sure how the sci fi would fit in, but that would be a significant experience....

Heck, how about living in a space colony?

Like for instance if bush/other world leader continues rain of terror, and takes over world?

or if Scientists keep making advances into space and the GLAST project detects an anomoly of an energy source, and it turns out to be an alien ship heading to earth instead of a massive moving star.

Write a story about global warming if that doesn't work write about penguins

Lots of possible topics:

- 25% of the undiscovered oil may be under the north pole. You could have a war up there.
- Pollution from India and China (and 3rd/2nd world nations) will eventually pass US. What will the world look like.
- US and China and Europe in a race to the moon.
- Apothis (asteroid) supposed to near miss the Earth. What if it doesn't. What if we don't want to chance it and want to move it a bit more (ie. movie Armageddon).
- Everyone is scared about the next pandemic (bird flu). What if it happens.
