Need Help Remembering Some Movies

So there's two movies I'm having trouble remembering the names of.

The first one, there's a lady whose son dies, in a plane crash I think, and no one remembers her son ever existing after the plane crash except her.

The second one, a guy graduates high school, and shortly after he gets shot, and the people who shot him hide his body. He comes back to life as a spirit or something to help this girl find the body before he dies for good.

I know that's not the greatest info on them, but it's all I can remember, and I'd love to watch these movies again.

The one about a the non existant child: the plane did not crash but she fell asleep, woke up and her daughter was missing. She was like the designer of the planes engines I beleive.

The other one: The kid was not dead but in like a state where he is almost dead and basically in purgatory. I beleive they find him at the end or something.
