In other news, Barack Obama stated in a speech today that he hopes to gather more votes than his opponent John McCain.

a week left, and alot can happen...it probably won't, but it can...i've been very interested in how the mainstream media has covered this election, and it's led me to believe even stronger about the ineptitude of the mainstream media.

Thats not stupid it's true. Just because they like you doesn't mean they will vote for you. My father said George W. Bush was the guy you would like to have a beer with but you don't want him in the white house. Seriously, you most likely like a lot of people you wouldn't vote for.

"I guarantee you that two weeks from now, you will see this has been a very close race, and I believe that I'm going to win it," McCain told interim "Meet" moderator Tom Brokaw. "We're going to do well in this campaign, my friend. We're going to win it, and it's going to be tight, and we're going to be up late."

Actually reading the article FTW! He guaranteed a close race not that he was going to win.

It's good to see McCain finally showing the confidence that his supporters have been displaying on the campaign trail. Obama has nothing left to ward off against a typical strong McCain close. When McCain pulls the Rezco card, this election is over.

I don't think anybody was implying that like was being used in a social manner, it was being used in a political manner. And most of the time (I can't imagine what that other "not most of the time" must be like), people vote for who they like politically and ideologically.

Read the article, the guarantee was a tight race not victory. He said he was going to win but fell short of guaranteeing it.

No, but he shouldn't accuse Obama of being cocky or "measuring the drapes", when he himself "guarantees" a victory.

McCain's campaign stopped running on fumes weeks ago and it's engine is full of sludge. A comeback, is of course, possible but he doesn't deserve it.

Jaks_Secret

I'm not sure how many presidential candidates who are predicted to lose by every known outlet who would flat out guarantee victory. McCain could have just said "we're very hopeful" or something like that. But to guarantee victory with the chance of falling flat on his face is just crazy talk.

What's wrong with him not giving up and keeping optimism? Most people didn't think his campaign would last long enough to make it to super tuesday, and look what happened. He's a fighter and he's not going to roll over after all this time.

John Stewart? That whole piece painted an unfair picture of fox news as I know for a FACT fox news talks all the time about the economy just as much as anybody, they just don't talk ONLY about the economy. As for the last part, did you hear the question asked? Yeah, neither did I. Kinda hard to know it's context when he cuts off part of his words like that.

Reminds me of when of my friend's mom: she has a letter on her refrigerator from John Kerry saying " Thank you Ms. ***** for helping us secure a victory in the 2004 presidential election" 4 years later and it's still there

thoughts on his bold prediction?

C_BozkurT_C
Well it is arrigant for him to say that he is going to win, but it is also arrigant for people to say he is going to lose. In 2000 bush was behind by 8 points the night before the election; also, Obama's race is going to play a factor and there is nothing anyone can do about it, on CNN they had a special that was talking about it, and they said that 1/3 of democrats are subconsciously racist, and that will cause fear in the voting booth. It sounds ridiculous but they did lots of research and had lots of facts to back up their claims.

But I'm sure it'd be fair to assume the question was "Who are you voting for?" Besides, there's really nothing to go against that notion (by which I mean, "Go to Fox News.com and find that exact same clip to prove me wrong, as you inevitably will".)

I couldn't help it, I know what you wanted but I couldn't help commenting on all of it. I don't know what the question was, from what I saw the video started after he asked it.

But I'm sure it'd be fair to assume the question was "Who are you voting for?" Besides, there's really nothing to go against that notion (by which I mean, "Go to Fox News.com and find that exact same clip to prove me wrong, as you inevitably will".)

So you are going to assume you are right?
