Mayhem Festival 2011

Anybody else plan on going to it this summer? For those who don't know, it's a touring hard rock/metal festival that goes throughout the USA and has 1 date in Canada.

Bands playing: Disturbed, Godsmack, Megadeth, Machine Head, In Flames, Trivium, Unearth, Kingdom of Sorrow, Red Fang, Suicide Silence, All Shall Perish, and Straight Line Stitch.

I'm only personally going for Megadeth, Machine Head, In Flames, Trivium, Unearth, and Red Fang.

If you're going, what date? I'll be at the Mansfield MA 7/22 date.

The side stages are really lacking this year, they got a bunch of underground bands but forgot to check whether they were good or not first lol. But the bands I already listed I've been dying to see.

Kingdom of Sorrow doesn't interest me at all. Jasta's voice seems to be intertwined with the hardcore sound of Hatebreed, and that's all I can think of while listening. It was pretty disappointing after rumors of Skeletonwitch and Goatwh**e.

I only like Disturbed out of that list.ultimameteora

Too bad it's one of the most disappointing bands on the list.

I went last year and it was pretty good. Line up doesn't really interest me. Everything seems so different. There were too many emo kids the last time I went(yeah those teenage hipster rockers). Also some of the so called "Emo-bands" kinda pissed me off. Good thing they all left early and the real party started late at night.

btw probably only gonna come to seeMachine Head, In Flames, and Megadeth, and Disturbed.

Only worthwhile band in the lineup is Megadeth

I'm just messin with you dude. I'm not actually a fan of Trivium, I just won't mind seeing them.

Summoning is kickass, my favorite black metal band will always be Watain.

Dear lord, no.

I went in 2009 and it was fun. Although I'm not too impressed with this year's line-up, I still might go.

Now Rites of Darkness 2 in San Antonio this year. That I'm looking forward to.

EDIT: Or Rites of Darkness 3, I forget where the number is at.

The inclusion of Megadeth and Machine Head pretty much sold me on this (not to mention I like me some Godsmack and In Flames, and have already seen Disturbed live and know they are great).

I still can't believe they got Megadeth on the line-up!

I'm defintely going this year. I went the first two years, then skipped last year because the lineup was pretty awful (I hate Korn with a passion). Machinehead and Megadeth are both pretty awesome and Disturbed put on the best live show I've ever seen.
