I actually think this could be possible.

The universe is too large for anything not to be.

Is this why we sometimes feel as if we're not actually 'there' while still being there? if you know what i mean.

I think it';s possible.

Do you?

I wonder how many and for how long people continued to believe the earth was flat even after it was discovered to be round?

So life could just be one big game? So when we die do we see a game over screen? And also do I get a retry with a second life?

Well we are pretty close to making an artificial universe in a computer world. Then if we manage to create a.i. very soon I could see something similar happening eventually. But seeing how we as humans are not all that old, if there was another space bound race that has had millions of years head start I really don't see why they wouldn't have been able to make a realistic world you could be plugged into.

But do I think this is a matrix world? No, I don't.

any rational and half educated human being knows adam and eve and the ark are physically impossible

when i was a kid going to church, i would ask the same thing. 'wait, how does this make sense?' the only reason i said 'oh okay!' was b/c the pastor was starting to annoy me with his bs. lol

also,

"eeew! so that means were all related?? even mommy and daddy????!!"

Believe whatever you want, but there is no matrix.

People just have a problem with the ideat that they might be existing for no reason; humans routinely see past the fact that we are just another organism on a planet full of them.

You first prove they are real.

The burden of proof lies on the person making the claim. I never claimed them to be anything either way in this thread. The other guy did. It's up to him to disprove it, then.

I would truly doubt if we lived in something such as the Matrix, that the creators would be dumb enough for us to figure it out this way.

The test has yet to have completed. As of now, the theory is untested. No-one can know if the matrix is real or not, if they haven't left it they might just be ignorant; If they have then they would not dispute it. Quit being so certain that everything you think is 100% factual, when there's no basis for that belief.

Sheldon: You know how I know we're not living in the Matrix?

Leonard: No, how?

Sheldon: Because the food would be much better.

In a sense we do live in the matrix because the human body is nothing more then a shell for our souls. Not to say that this world isn't real but we only incarnate here for a short period of time.
