Man I wish I was in Nevada today they're turning up. (Area 51 "raid" post)

I'm stuck at work atm on break. Aliens are like my all-time favorite trope of science fiction. I could care less about time travel, dictator societies, etc.

It seriously looks like fun, the festival going on today no lie. Not sure if they'll do this again next Sept 20th - they should - but all that's going on in NYC (where I live) is some boring ass protests by these kids pretending to care about climate change. Why not something else alien related for us east coasters? Damn...

Anyone here turning up their own way for Alien Day? There was never anything like this before. I'm surprised how many fans have become more accepting of ETs in the past ten years.

I love these alien conspiracies. Area 51 is a top secret testing facility for new aircraft, and I’ve little doubt they’ve technology in there that’d make people believe they’re seeing extraterrestrial craft’s capabilities. From what I hear, typically the tech that civilians have access to are decades behind the cutting edge.

Well I hope they have/had fun and nothing tragic happened.

The security there is no joke; they might not shoot you right out with actual bullets, but they'd probably do everything short of that to stop you from getting in. Rock salt, bean bags, tazers, tackling you to the ground, beating you with sticks.

Yeah it's pretty crazy when you think about it. I mean think about where we are now, what things might be like in 10 years, then think "wow that actually probably already exists".

If there's anything I learn from Independence Day is the fact that the President of the U.S doesn't know the existence of Area 51. Will Smith told me of this years ago :P
