We'll see if MS commercials increase during Clippers games. MS is bound to have some pull with Ballmer.

Why did he pay 2 billion when it was worth under 200 million?

Second highest bidder was 1.6bil or something like that, he got a decent purchase. Once he signs a new TV deal it will practically pay for himself. Also, Ballmer has a net worth of 20bil... he'll be fine lol.

So the Sterlings get 2 bln dollars for the team. Plus Donald Sterling is suing the NBA for another 1 billion for damages from forcing the sale, and banning from the NBA using illegally obtained recording. A lawsuit he will most likely win, at least partially. The real winner here is the Sterling family. Good job NBA.

Too bad Ballmer screws up everything he puts his hands on.

This whole ordeal was a ploy to bring attention to the NBA. Sterling was probably about to sell the team until the commissioner suggested making a big racist thing of it. The NBA is shady like that,

will probably move the team to seattle since they no longer have the supersonics and it really makes no sense to have two nba teams in one city.

No, they didn't want to set a precedent.

lol yea the precedent that was going to be set was the owners weren't going to vote against Sterling. Imagine the shockwaves of a failed vote.

I still say KC needs a team. College basketball is really huge in Kansas what with KU, K-State, the fledgling Wichita State, and the original rules of basketball are being moved to Lawrence, I don't see why we can't get a basketball team back, if Seattle can get it back, KC should too...

Maybe the NBA could expand the league to 32 teams in the future somehow, keep the LA teams, add Seattle, and add Kansas City.

Looks like the Clippers got clipped from Sterling's hip. Anyhow, this is - ironically and unfortunately - a win for Sterling. It would have been better to rub his entire body raw with pumice stones and then bathe him in salt.

The NBA's punishment of Sterling was totally harsh and disproportionate. Trying to force a sale, fining him $2.5 million (which Sterling says he won't pay) and banning him for life, that's a lot for a comment, especially one that he said in private, it's not like he went out and publicly said it. Plus the guy is old, so they should cut him some slack for that.

Not to mention it was said he's had Alzheimer for years. Honestly I'm all for hating racists but lately I feel this country has been blowing the whole racism thing way out of proportion.

I wonder how awkward playing will be for NBA players if Donald Sterling is allowed to attend games and he actually does.
