So Google just released a new video titled "How It Feels [through Glass]". It's a video from the perspective of people wearing Glass. Apparently it's 100% real and they even have working prototypes.

You can find the video here. (be prepared to be amazed)

So OT, are you ready for a HUD?

I don't think you're supposed to just be wearing these around town. Either way, this seems like tech that I doubt goes very far. Most people don't want to wear glasses at all. Much less with a bunch of shlt flashing on them.

Why would anyone want that on a regular basis? I'm not a machine. I don't want numbers and information scrolling everywhere I look and I can't imagine many people would.

Personally I think it's brilliant. It would be especially good in a place like Venice, where it is so easy to get lost; plus it'd be awesome if it gave you information on famous landmarks along the way. For travellers/tourists this is perfect.

Even if it works as well as the video makes it look I don't ever see it as becoming more than a toy you'd put on from time to time.  I just couldn't imagine wearing ridiculous-looking glasses voluntarily or saying "okay glass..." outloud would ever be socially acceptable.  Maybe people did say similar things about cellphones 15 years ago, but those have become necessities, this will never be that.  In the future with some technical advancements I believe living daily life with a HUD may work, but these are just too clunky and socially unacceptable.

Especially with pictures and videos. Imagine all those times when people say "Fvck I wish I had my camera for this". Or missed a shot because of seconds.

Unless you wear this Google Glass thing with you everywhere you'd still have moments where you'd say "f*ck I wish I had my camera for this".

So you want a bunch of information scrolling at all times with video and whatnot? Besides the obvious headache it would probably give with wearing it regularly, I'd imagine you'd be running into walls, crashing your car, etc. Not to mention it looks stupid as all hell.

ok buddy.

1: you don't have to have it running 24/7

2: your eyes adjust

3: not everyone gets headache due to everything like you

4: if you cant multitask you shouldn't be using it in the first place

5: you activate what you want when you want,

6: the little monitor inside don't take up your entire eyesight so walking in walls is pretty stupid thing to say...

Yeah they are just the early prototypes for people who are eager to try them out. That's why they aren't really trying to sell them as much as just show people the tech and let intrested people purchase.
