What is wrong with the people who made this version of the show? The UK version was good but the US version is like a parody of that show. They're focused on comedy bits, drama, and smashing Lego models, rather than actually building anything.

What. The. F***.

These licensed international shows always make adjustments to suit the audience. If there are changes, it's because the producers think these changes would improve the show's appeal to the local audience.

Not saying they're right, but it certainly says something about someone; either the producers or the audience - or maybe even both.

I watch it yesterday and I gotta admit, I really enjoy Lego Masters and not because I grew up with Legos, I like the creativity the designs are and I haven't build a Legos set in years since I enter my teenage hood...but I sometimes will play the Lego games. That said, I enjoy it and my daughter also like it.

Here's one from TV Guide (June 21-July 4, 2021):

JEERS to the mastermind who rescheduled Lego Masters. Fox's Top Chef of plastic toys is its most playful competition series, but without its lead-in from The Masked Singer, this hoot of a show hosted by Will Arnett is getting the brick kicked out of it in the ratings for going head-to-head with America's Got Talent on NBC.

@mrbojangles25: It's on Fox, and I think they stream the broadcast the next day on Hulu.

Eh, I find most US shows like this to be equally vapid and filled with too much music.

Yup! Some even go the extra mile and adapt it into something else, like MXC (rooted from Takeshi's Castle) and Power Rangers (rooted from Super Sentai).

American versions of TV shows are usually terrible. It's too bad because it just reinforces the negative stereotypes people have of Americans.

It seems like a low-bidget filler show that would be shown in the spring / summer (aka not the fall line up).
