Gladiator - Seen this movie a shit ton, it was a DVD that came with the PS2, and it still holds up. Take it an an unabashedly manly man fantasy movie, it's masterpiece.

The fact it's something aimed at men would probably upset dumbasses today.

Leprechaun.I think this movie it's more comedy than Horror. It was kinda weird seeing Jennifer Aniston in this movie.I only knew her from Friends.

The Beguiled(71).I usually love movies with Clint Eastwood but this movie just didn't do it for me.The people that recommended this movie in the Horror subreddit must have been VIPS in Epstein's terror island.Just in the beginning the character played by Clint Eastwood kisses a little girl in the mouth in the scene were they were hiding from the Confederate soldiers. From that point the basic premise of this movie is a group of school girls and an incestuous principal betray their own kind(confederates) cause they got in love? with a random Yankee. The guy that recommended this shit said it had Horror vibes of some shit.I just didn't knew at that time what was he really referring.Man for this shit i didn't watch Midway or Ford v Ferrari.I should stop taking suggestions from reddit regarding movies.

  • No Country for Old Men*: 8/10
  • Jexi: 5/10
  • First Reformed: 6/10
  • Jojo Rabbit: 6/10 [Taika Waititi is like a unassuming, actually likeable Robert Downey Jr.]
  • A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood: 6/10
  • Waves: 6/10 [So much undeserving stuff gets nominated while this is sitting right there.]
  • Meeting Gorbachev: 6/10 [I understand that as a German Herzog feels the necessity to narrate the movie himself but he really should had have let someone else (a German, no problem) narrate this movie. Plus as a piece of history, aside from having Gorbachev do the interview, I found the documentary lacking. A missed opportunity.]
  • Knives Out: 6/10
  • Searching For Bobby Fischer: 6/10
  • Dark Waters: 6/10

The Waterboy. My son has reached the "I'll only watch stupid comedies" phase, and we've been chewing through anything remotely like Sandler/Carrey/Ferrell movies.

How long does this phase last, again?

The Andromeda Strain.I was looking forward to a story about some kind of pandemic.Instead this movie was more centered on the scientists that were trying to discover a cure for an alien virus.Overall it was a bit boring. Now i know why i never heard about it.

The Circle.First of all i was actually trying to watch a movie with the same name but somehow got confused and up watching this movie.I thought it had an interesting premise about privacy in today's world. But somehow the story took a weird swerve and actually endorsed that shit.Instead of condemning it.The last shot of the ''self-partnered'' surrounded by cameras broadcasting her daily life to the world didn't seem to bother her.

I saw the Joker movie. It was pretty good. I think I gave it an 8. Performance was well done. I don't care much about superhero movies and I still 'enjoyed' it. It was pretty dark.

It's interesting that this movie got political attention. If we want to look at it as some kind of political statement (which is never 100% guaranteed to be the intent.) I would say it was a very liberal movie. Spoiler territory: It was warning people about a rich poor divide and showing how budget cuts on healthcare can be kind of a problem. It's not a bad message imo and I don't really get the gut reaction from the media. Then again, movie critics and the msm in general have kinda lost the plot for a while now. Also, I don't watch movies to interpret them as a statement on modern politics, and am typically disengaged as soon as a movie gets preachy or butchers its own coherence to go there. (Star Trek: Picard.)

Just dropped Metallica S&M (conducting a symphony) after 34 minutes. It's a two hour film. I really don't understand why this band is so liked. I kind of like two of their albums, but they rank pretty low for metal for me.

Top three concert films currently are...

Prince: Sign o' the Times, Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense and Madonna: Blond Ambition Tour.

It won't. Fox is owned by Disney now, who only do safe bets. The movie barely broke even. Some think it was a loss. I recommend the manga. Was released in a nice boxset just prior to the movie.

There is a short direct to video anime, but it covers the same material you've already watched.

  • House of Cards: To Play the King: 6/10 [Juuust a tad bit over the top.]
  • The Chase: 5/10
  • The Lion King (1994): 6/10 [Probably the best collection of songs in an animated film that I have ever seen].
  • Heavenly Creatures: 6/10 [Disturbing.]
  • Trois couleurs: Bleu: 6/10 [Juliette Binoche is so beautiful.]
  • Trois couleurs: Blanc: 6/10
  • Trois couleurs: Rouge: 5/10 [Irène Jacob is no Juliette Binoche or Julie Delpy.]
  • Uncut Gems: 6/10 [So the Academy says no to Sandler, but yes to Pryce.]
  • Bombshell: 5/10 [It felt like a high budget TV-movie. No subtlety, like explaining office politics and dynamics to 5 year olds. If Margot should have been nominated for something, it was Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood. Charlize was good in her Megyn Kelly impression.]
  • The Hudsucker Proxy: 6/10 [Very fun Jennifer Jason Leigh performance. Such a treat to see a master like Newman at this stage of his career work on a project like this.]

The Happening.I have seen snippets of this movie so i finally decided to watch it properly. It was good. But my God...i usually don't get awe struck with actresses in movies but whew the chick that plays Alma just hit a special chord in me...She is drop dead gorgeous....Ahem...the story was pretty good...before i saw it properly i thought the ending was pretty weak...but now that i saw it properly...i thought it was pretty good.

Time Machine(1960).I watched the remake a while ago or maybe i should say i watched a few parts from here and there but never watched the 60s version...both movies have different takes. This one for example was more about the nature of Mankind. While the remake was about the mc trying to save his gf from getting killed. There is one thing i noticed tho...I was kinda surprised they race swapped the entire Eloi in the remake from the 60's version were all of them were blonde.Marylin Manson was also a remake only character.Overall i prefer the 60's version. The mc felt more mature and grounded unlike the one in the remake that just couldn't accept his gf is dead for good or shit happens and get over it.The best part in the 60's version was when the mc inspires the Eloi to fight the morlocks.Instead of acting like dumb cattle. It remind me of a story i read in a Conan the Barbarian comic.I rarely read comics but that story was great. For those interested it's called ''Lair of the Beast-Men''

Netflix just got lots of Miyazaki movies and I've watched all of them. Last ones were Nausicaa (9/10) and Spirited Away (9/10).

Miyazaki movies are great at making Disney seem retarded.

Noooooo.... That means the only light at the end of the tunnel may be him leaving for college at 18!

As for the topic, I was conned into watching the "Dora the Explorer" movie by the wife. I went in expecting to hate it, but I actually enjoyed it (although it still feels weird to say it). The writers knew that they were making a ridiculous movie based on a ridiculous premise about a ridiculous children's TV show, and they leaned all the way into it. I spent half the runtime laughing at the movie WITH the movie which was completely unexpected.

I thought I was going to get a 2/10, but got a 6/10. I'd watch it again with the right company.

Last movie I watched was probably Shazam! Or Jojo Rabbit. Don't remember in which order I watched them. But they were both way funnier than I expected them to be. If you haven't seen Jojo Rabbit I really recommend it.

  • The Outsider: 6/10 [It was fine, but I thought it was going to be a "straight up" serial killer or something of the like and not have supernatural elements. Some details of the last episode bother me:
    • At the end Holly and Ralph seemed very hesitant to risk their lives and the cave caving in, I think them knowing what the stakes were it seems a curious choice.
    • Why did Ralph's wife set the chair on fire right away in the middle of the night? Nothing suspicious about that Only her, Ralph and Holly knew about the "substance" so why the rush? None of the investigators would knew to even look for it so they could have disposed of the chair in a discrete manner in the morning.
    • Alibi or no alibi I don't see how the story Ralph & company told at the end about Jack Hoskins being responsible for the shooting throws off investigators off Claude being a suspect after they had him in video trying to abduct that kid. I think it was explained but I didn't get it and didn't care enough to replay that part.]
  • Four Rooms: 6/10
  • Richard Jewell: 6/10 [I don't understand what they did with this movie's billing. Paul Walter Hauser's character is clearly the lead character in the film, so why is he getting an "and" billing? Even if Rockwell is getting too big for his britches (don't know this to be true) because of his Oscar all you had to do was give Rockwell 1st billing and Walter Hauser 2nd billing. Weird. And Walter Hauser is another guy that should have been nominated over Jonathan Pryce.]
  • Darkman II: The Return of Durant: 4/10 [Yeah, no.]
  • Darkman III: Die Darkman Die: 4/10 [Yes Darkman, die.]
  • House of Cards: The Final Cut: 6/10 [Commendable job maintaining a consistently high quality of writing throughout the series.]
  • Daylight: 5/10
  • Ghosts of Mississippi: 6/10
  • 1917: 7/10 [An achievement.]
  • Sling Blade: 7/10

Sonic The Hedgehog(2020), I like it but found Sonic kinda annoying at times. It was like if my nephew who thinks he knows everything and talks alot. Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik was the best part of the movie. Reminded me so much of The Mask and Ace Venture where he was at his peak in comedy. Also liked the end credits for the sequel if we get one. 8/10.

Contamination.A surprisingly good movie.I admit i kinda disregard it as another C Italian Horror movie at first but the movie actually had a good plot and a pretty good ending.Man even the final words of one of the protagonists almost gave me goosebumps.Overall this movie felt kinda like a Lovecraft story.

Some stretches of this are really boring, and the Bond obviously sucks the balls. But I love the soundtrack and action pieces along with it's Empire-Strikes-Back ending, before Empire Strikes Back was a thing.
